If you like the woody feel of blades with 5 wood plies and carbon layers next to the core, but don't want to stump up the $$$$ for a[nother] Butterfly Innerforce or a Nittaku Carbon Inner or even a Donic Waldner Senso Carbon V1…then this could be worth a try.
Saw this on Aliexpress @ USD5.99. The Huieson X-2 has 5 wood plies & 2 carbon plies.
From the photos, the carbon layer is under the 2 outer wood plies. The description says "Fine Limba Wood + Carbon + Big Central Ayous Wood + Carbon + Fine Limba Wood". Don't know what wood the white-dyed layer is - limba also? The fairly substantial outer plies in the photos don't seem to be a consistent thickness between sides, so it's the luck of the draw on QC there.

I thought the Palio R-57 (about USD18) was cheap for this type of blade, but Huieson has a few models (including the seemingly better-made & lighter X-3 and K3, after a cursory look) in the under-USD10 price bracket.
