Blade: diode v
FH: vega asia
BH: p4 0.5
New blade for 2024

Similar design to the Diode V, but likely slower!

Blade is thinner (5.5mm vs 5.7)

Reaction: 9.6 (diode v 10.6)
Vibration: 7.0 (diode v 7.9)

What a disappointment...when you put a Pro label on something, you should go with faster, not slower. I was hoping for a 5w-2c variant, which is what Victas has been doing lately.

Or the JSH coming back as diode pro, there’s such a demand for used ones, not sure why Bty isn’t doing a rebranded model

This is much thinner than the JSH... JSH was 5.9mm if I am not mistaken. The old Diode V is a step down from that, at 5.7mm. And now this Diode Pro is at 5.5. I don't understand their logic :^)

The new ball is slower.... Even the man himself said the he made his nexy blades faster (7ply) because of the new ball.

I think the « original » diode plays by JSH was around this thickness

I mean we don't know what he used 10 years ago... but his signature blade (i.e. Butterfly Joo Saehyuk) was 5.9mm thick. Of course back in the celluloid days, when he played with Tackiness instead of Tenergy, he likely used something thinner.

Defense means to defend, attack means to attack.

It makes perfect sense for this Diode Pro to get thinner and slower as to counteract attacking equipment getting faster and faster, especially with booster use now increasingly common among intermediate amateurs.

The Ying (dark) side to the Yang.

Butterfly give it a reaction rating of 9.6 which is still fast - same as the Innerforce Layer ZLF. In comparison the Innershield ZLF has a reaction rating of 5.5

Different playstyles in mind hence the different ratings.

From that early review Diode Pro keeps with the Diode product line heritage in supporting the modern defender playstyle which builds in strategic attacking elements.
