How would T-11 fit in the speed rankings?

On a related note...the TSP 4.5/5.5...how soft or hard are they? I read somewhere that these TSP balsa blades have hard outer plies. Can anyone confirm?

Well my Gergely has a balsa core and it would have to rate somewhere fairly high in the speed stakes. I think its at least as fast as the R1. Its hard to believe its carbon as the feel of the blasa really comes through. It does however have an unmistakeable jarring sensation that I can feel in my hand after a nights play with it though. Its not like jarring a golf club on a cold winters day, its just a ever so slight tingle.

Nah, that's butterfly usa propaganda. It's not a balsa core.

So what is its core, do you know? It sure feels like Balsa when hitting. Looks like Balsa enough too.

Kiri IIRC.
It's definitely not balsa.

I guess that is why bty blades average from 85g upwards.
Average for balsa would be 55-75g depending how many ply or the composition.
The balsacarbo is quite heavy for a balsa blade.

Not sure how the t11 stacks up because I have never bought it. Though from other peoples take on it, its pretty fast. Not sure if its faster than the t1(that thing is a speedbeast!)

TTMaster blades are very thin five-ply balsa core blades. Very slow.

I think the balsacarbo x5 I had was around 80 or 82g. It has pretty thick outer plies.

The Kool is the next heaviest maybe. I had a few, 78 to 85g.

I swear something I read before I got the Gergely said it had a balsa core. Was a big reason for buying it. Oh well, glad I did anyway lol. Kiri must have similar feel to balsa I think lol. Thanks for the info Silver. I think you're right about it cos Purger said something about it being Kiri in his.

Dr. N Bulldozer is listed at 89 grams.

Andro Fibercomp Defplay at 85g has a Balsa Core stiffened by Fibre Glass in a 7 ply, speedwise it is slow on the blocks and fast when hitting, i can only compare it to the Aurora and i think overall it is marginally slower!

Ok from your comments, this is the list so far:

Fastest to slowest:

Joola MC1 or R*1
Joola Kool
Joola Bomb MCD Extrem
TSP Balsa 8.5
Dr. Neubauer Special
(note that these fast blades are fast...opinions vary as to which is faster/fastest)
.
.
.
Butterfly Balsacarbo X5
Donic Cayman
Dr N Firewall+ and Dr. N. Bulldozer
Hallmark Aurora (DEF side)
Andro Fibercomp Defplay (marginally slower)
Dr. N. Barricade

When I used the enigma as my match blade and lent it to others they found it quite quick especially when you commit to an attacking shot and it is the slowest one of the four - just. It has 2 sheets of dr evil on now so I can't ask others to judge it for speed. I have a friend I'll be seeing at table tennis tonight who I think has the andro but in off-, and 8.5 and 6.5 tsp's. I've used them in the past but can't remember how they played. He's a true ej and has been for years so I'll ask him.

To be honest, it's hard to judge a blades speed unless you've used them with the same rubbers.

IMO TTMaster Sensitive Defense/Evolutive Defense are the slowest balsa blades.
