The TTmaster sensitive defence blade is slower than the Barricade from my trials. Does mynamenotbob who first suggested this blade think there is any plus points for my (extremly) close to the table game in trying the evolution defence or is it more suited for a traditional chopping game. Yes there are plus points. Larger blade makes blocking easier. Larger sweet spot increases accuracy. It's still incredibly light and maneuverable. With ox pips and Dr. N. Pistol 2mm, total weight is something like 103 grams. |

If TTmaster is slower than Barricade then it is unbelievable slow. Barricade is too soft IMO for pips, I think the TTMaster introduced carbon to overcome this. |

No holding back with this blade. It's kinda fun. I agree, this sums up my close to the table game with the TTMaster blade. |

Of the ones I have used: 1. Andro Super Core Carbon Light Off+ 2. Donic Waldner Black Devil Carbon Balsa 3. TSP Balsa 6.5 The TSP is fast on smashes and long distance power loops, when the ball is allowed to sink in to the wood and do its bouncy fibreglass/balsa thing; but off the surface of the blade (i.e when flicking opponents short slow serves, and off the bounce play) it is slower than its carbon/balsa rivals. Having 6.5 mm of balsa means the edges of the blade get rather ugly if used for a long time! The Donic is very well made in every way. The balsa is hidden (or hardened or something) on the outside edges of the blade so it does not get pulled off by edging tape and can take whacking in to the table with the best of them. The handle is quite rectangular in cross sectional shape. It looks good! The Andro is not so well made. My handle looks like they ran out of balsa half way down it and started with a new chunk ...of a different width! The cross sectional shape of this handle is much more rounded than the donic. I varnished the edges very well, which seems to have stopped any loss of balsa to edging tape. This looked to be a must, as the balsa was rough at the edges of the blade – Andro need to sharpen the saw they cut their balsa with, big style! However I love the speed of this blade and I am currently using it. The only down side with it (apart from the before mentioned cosmetic problems with the balsa) is that it is so light that it feels silly with light rubbers on. Another point to mention is that this is not a straight forward carbon/balsa blade – I would describe it more as a "carbon sandwiching a grid of hard wood, with balsa in the grid gaps rather than air so as to meet the %wood rule ...blade". |

I totally agree regarding the TSP balsa... they tend to feel a little slow when you hit softly, and you won't get the power of the balsa until you hit harder... |

Donic Waldner Black Devil Carbon Balsa is not good for looping right. No pro uses it, it is good for hitting. |

Some skilled people prefer these super stiff blades for their looping game. |

His wing must so short, and he loops on the table right? his swings are actually quite long, I guessed he used Butterfly TAMCA 5000 blade back in the eighties when he played in the highest leaque of the country. I agree with you that the blade is very stiff and short dwelltime(I tried it myself with Solcion), but with soft rubber and the right technique it can be a looping machine. My old teammate used it with sonex jp gold and looping is the only thing he does, no smashing or blocking. |

I have tried Donic Defplay CLASSIC senso (about 72g) and I don't think there are many (balsa-)blades slower than that at low impact. |
