I would like to know the composition for the Stiga Hammerlite. I've tried searching the internet, but nothing so far has worked. I think it might be balsa-balsa-balsa-balsa-balsa-balsa-balsa, but I'm only about 30% confidant in that guess.

How about an enhancement to this compiled data. How about adding the data on the thicknesses of the composing layers? Some of these blades have the same composition, but the thicknesses are probably not the same and would make the difference.

Let me start:
Violin
- White Ash 0.4, White Ash 0.8, Kiri 3, White Ash 0.8, White Ash 0.4

I just add a bit here and there:

Avalox BT555 : limba - spruce - ayous - spruce - limba

Donic Dicon: limba - spruce - ayous - spruce - limba
Donic Waldner V1 : limba - limba - ayous - limba - limba
Correction for Donic Opticon / Opticon RS : It is beech, not birch (somehow beech and birch are different according to one forum member).

Joola K5 : limba - limba - ayous - limba - limba

Tibhar IV-L and IV-L Light Contact: ayous - ayous - ayous - ayous

Cornilleau Series:
Hinotec ALL+ = hinoki - limba - ayous - limba - hinoki
Hinotec OFF- = hinoki - limba - ayous - limba - hinoki (just different thickness compared to ALL+)
Hinotec OFF = hinoki - limba - kiri - limba - hinoki
Hinotec OFF+ = hinoki - carbon - kiri - carbon -hinoki

I have this nagging suspicion that the top ply of the Stiga Ebenholz V isn't ebony, more like an ebony-looking, NCT-coated limba ply. :?

Anyone able to confirm or deny this?

I got a zebrano thunder and it has a ebony top ply and it feels similar to ebenholz so I think ebenholz's top ply is ebeny too. But ebenholz's top ply is much darker than my blade...

Hi Ozan,

this is Stefan from Tischtennis-Manufaktur. I'm sorry, but the top ply of Zebrano Thunder is not ebony, but zebrano - that is what gives the blade its name.

Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy your new blade? Did you already have the chance to play with it?

What I found when searching about Mazunov - "planchonello" outer plies :

Quote:
Planchonella (family Sapotaceae) A genus of rain-forest trees whose timber is hard, heavy, and sometimes siliceous (nyatoh). There are about 60 species, one in the Seychelles, 2 in America, the rest in the eastern tropics.

Maybe that explains why the 2 Mazunov of mine have different colors of the outer plies.

Oh yes I've played with that blade. Zabrano has the special stiga feeling. Good ball feeling with very very good speed(off to off+ speed with good lift) Its very good for mid-far distance loopers. But its a bit too fast after samsonov alpha. A couple of friends liked it too. I'll try to adapt to the speed, too bad I'm not able to play much thanks to my new job... ;(

Rok, that is a great list but there is ond glaring omission. I mean there are no one-ply hinoki blades on the list. Don't you think people would want to know what the one-ply Hinoki blades are made off?
:P
