What is the fastest lightest oversized blade?

I am using a Galaxy MC-1. It's fast, light, and stiff. I wish I could get one like that, but BIGGER.

I think I have a solution for you : buy custom blade either from Borko (the expensive one) or from Visse (the cheaper one).

Dr N High Technology Plus.

Off+, wildly oversize, very light (ie 50-70 g's).

Huge sweet spot, wonderful control, a bit bouncy for the short game. Also, the edges are fragile so use protective sponge tape (or something).

Thank you. I'm also using a modified Seemiller. I push, block, and smash a lot. I need something light and fast though. I'm not sure I can afford the Dr. N or the Butterfly. Over $100 is too much for me to take a chance on. I already have a couple blades in the draw that I'm trying to sell. Ahhhhhhrrr.
Is the Stiga Offensive worth a shot? 92grms seems heavy to me. Is the LKT oversize total garbage.

The Stiga Offensice Oversize is a heavy blade. Remember with oversize, the extra weight of the rubbers can be significant. Add that to a 90-95g blade and the result isn't ideal for quick at-the-table play. I also like oversize (at least in length- the top/tip creates great spin with the same motion, on my modified Seemiller b/h), but get the weight right down by using OX or thin sponged pips on one side.

The LKT's I've tried (all+, I've not used offensive ones) were great value for money.

Perhaps a Toxic 5 would suit you. It's Off- (just), very oversize, medium weight, cheap, has tons of ball feedback (read: rings like a bell), and has a very thick straight handle. Sand down the head if it's too big/wide for you. Don't buy if you have small hands.

Thanks ShoeBox,
I have the opportunity to try a Stiga Clipper Oversized-ST that has a miraculously light weight of 83 grams. I will also try a Gambler Carbon Oversized. After reading your post I will certainly consider the LKT.
Thank you very much.
PS. Do you use ST handle with your grip. I like the way the ST feels, but most of the time I can only find the blade I want in FL. Do you do much sanding? Do you think it's a bad practice to turn a FL to a ST?

Ugh. Also a common problem for me. I think it'll be quite a bit of sanding, depending on the amount of curve/flare the handle.

I'm looking at my Primorac Carbon FL right now. I'd rather trade for a straight one before I get tempted...

I personally think it's not a bad practice, but it's probably not good for your pocket if you find out that the sanding job wasn't as refined as you wanted.

Thanks for the words of wisdom. Do you prefer the Straight Blades? Do you twiddle?

If I can only get a flared blade (like my current one) I sand them to almost straight. It's easy if you have access to a belt sander mounted on a bench (or something similar).

I also sand off some of the handle "roundness" (as viewed edge on) so that when using the Seemiller grip my palm is against a flat surface, instead of a rounded one.

The Stiga Offensive Oversize will be faster and is a better attacking blade than the Toxic 5. At 83g's I'd leap a tall building to get one (if you play as a looping/blocking attacker).

Tommy let us know how you liked the Gambler OS Carbon blade. I have always wanted to hear a legitimate review from someone that actually played one.

Sure thing Skippy!
I am getting it from Cole and will give it a try this weekend if I can glue up in time.

I was ready to leap a tall building for my Stiga Oversize, but luckily I didn't have to. That would probably sprain my ankle and keep me off the tables for a few days. :-).

I prefer straight handles. I actually found out that my stroke alters a bit when using flared handles. Doesn't feel right...

Twiddling? Err, not much benefit to because I use inverted rubber on both sides.

Gahd! An 83g OVERSIZE blade. Keel!
