Darker 7p.2a 7t Review I had to buy a replacement for my beloved KLHS, as somebody had stolen it. Backround: Intermediate both sides topspin attacker, with an emphasis on spin. Uses spinny loop and block to set up an away from the table game. Generally likes to open the table as much as possible. Uses 2.1 tenergy 05 on both sides. Construction: Excellent craftsmanship, the best I've ever seen in a blade. Has a nice pine smell to it, like pine. Slick stained handle takes some getting used to, as does the smaller ST handle then I'm used to. Feeling: very stiff, however, soft feeling, not as soft as my old septear. Performance in the short game: Very good, because of the blades stiffness, the softness makes it a little touch. Was used to the more "solid" of the KLHS. Not as good at pushng very short yet, although I think thats a difference in feel. Opening: Works wonders here, picks the ball up, spins it out with a very nice arc. Away from the table: Blade has an extremely linear feel to it. Hit hard, the ball is a rocket, use a soft block, the ball dribbles over the net. Stiff feeling gives a great feel on blocking and hitting, even though I'm not sure if I like the feel when looping yet. I'm much more of a spin looper, so does well in that regard, just doesn't get that springy feeling that makes me warm and fuzzy inside. |
