1. The reviewer: Intermediate Mid-Distance Attacker, strong block, serve, backhand topspin. Weak forehand topspin, table sense.

2. Physical Properties: Mention colour, sponge thickness, sponge hardness (guess or compare to similar), quality of sheet, grippy or tacky/sticky, any unusual features (eg dome), unusual packing, etc. Red sheet is very deep red, almost maroon color. Feels more like a traditional inverted more then a "glue effect rubber."

3. Speed:
- Speed on slow strokes: Very linear, you get what you give..
- Speed on power loops: Fast, but a little slow on slower blades
- Speed on power drives/smashes: Fast, but I don't smash all that much.
Have Had on three blade.
YEO: Fast
Gambler A/C: Medium
OC CR: Slow

Speed is dependent on how hard/fast you blade is.

4. Spin:
- Spin on a loops is: Very good, with excellent arc w/ great touch for hook and fade shots, with fishing relatively safe.
- Spin on serves/pushes: Good, with great placement and spin

5. Control:
How easy it is to control the rubber on blocks, pushes (short game), loop placement, etc: Unlike other tensors, this rubber has a great short game.

6. Other Playing properties: Medium throw, slightly insensitive to spin, great arc on topspin/ with great ball feeling

7. Reference: Hurricane 3 neo, T05.

8. Other comments Other unique properties... Great feeling rubber. Provides good feeling without being overboard with its touchyness. Very deceptive service. I'm excited and happy that this rubber is what it is, as I didn't want to spend money on T05. Very cheap, like only 600 Yen more then Sriver. Probably going to put on forehand/backhand.

Dammit! It sounds like a really good rubber. Now i think I have to buy a sheet to try out.

I was very impressed, with Vega pro... till my 2nd week with it.

:( moved to palio macro era; which is tad harder for my liking, but at least can retain the speed for a longer duration.

I must have missed it... what happened the second week?

Yeah, I am curious about the second week as well. What happened, does the rubber die rather quickly?

I am guessing your second week was like the first time I glued it up. Dead as a doornail. Like unglued dead rubber. Not like T05 at all. Not even a slow version of T05. Big disappointment.

Precisely so..

On week 2:

It lost speed ... the response time of the ball on blade was longer ..... and hence it didn't roll the ball fast enough and hence it lost significant spin too.

My findings were a little different. However, what I expect from my rubber is also probably different. Yes the vega is on the slower side, even to me. However, to me, it does two things really well that outweigh whatever issues I may have with its speed. Its probably the best rubber I've ever used over the table. Short pushes, with plenty of spin and control, and blocking off the bounce, over the table. Added up with good spin and arc on loops, it works overall for my style of game.

How long does it last for you?

I had upwords of a month on my OC and YEO before they were misplaced/stolen. On my Gamber A/C two weeks and still plays good. Great spin, adaquate speed, and good control still on all sheets. I think it plays better on harder surfaced/stiffer blades.

My findings have been similar to rmaxwellusn. Vega pro is very controllable over the table for pushes/touch shots. I compared it directly with Hexer (which also has an amazing short game) and it was easily just as controllable. I liked Hexer alright, but I was having trouble ending the point with it: my attacks seemed to lack "bite." Vega Pro keeps the low gear of Hexer, but has a top gear that is very reliable for ending the point. It has a meatier feel and a lower throw compared to Hexer. After about two months of use, my sheet of Vega Pro has not shown any decrease in performance :)
