IMO Desto F2 is better in any aspect (excepting his fragility). But that depends on your style. Desto is a soft tensor and Quattro is more like Sriver but a thicker topsheet.

I should receive a sheet of quattro soon but according what I've red on various forums there is so many types of quattro (thickness, hardness, colour, ...retailer... )there should be 1 looking like somehow to F2.

All of the Donic F1, F2, and F3 are fragile, they crumble around the sides, but they all have a great feel when playing.

Played yesterday with quattro 2.2 1 side and F1 2.0 other side on acoustic. Quattro was way slower than F1. Maybe my "normal gluing" was wrong. I then put 2 layers of speed glue in order to break'in. Was much better but still nothing like a desto serie. I've red quattro needs few gluing before it can deliver it's full potential. Is that true ? How could I optimize the rubber w/o speedgluing ?

New formula (2006) are less fragile than formers. I got 2 sheets of F1 new formula that I play with for 3 mths and they do not crumble...hurray!

Thanks for feedback jolan!

I have heard it takes a few session to break in, the effect gets better...

The Quattro topsheet is a lot thicker and firmer than the quattro, so I would think the feel would be quite differerent...

Did you feel much speed glue effect?

Well, can't say yet. Wouldn't be honest as I've been playing only once with it. Let's wait saturday for a new session. What I did is that I removed the sheet, put 2 more layers of speed glue, get it rest, plus 1 layer of normal glue. Sticked it on my legout and made test in my garage. Wow, nothing likes yesterday ! It is alive ! fast, bouncy and crispy. Is it speedglue or has it broken in ? To be continued...

Adding some glue is often simiular to breaking it in, so I suspect the effect will be a little of both... No doubt it won't be quite as lively without glue though, so don't get your hopes up too high

I have gone through several sheets of new Formula F1 since they came out with it. It most definitely crumbles around the edges but a little less than the original version. The new version plays well, but I preferred the original F1 Desto a little bit in terms of the overall "speed glue" like effect. Overall it is a great rubber.

I have a sheet of Desto F2 and is remarcably soft but very bouncy and speedy. Great spin and nice medium-low throw. Indeed the topsheet is fragile ,if you accidentally hit the table(like me :( ) it is possible to damage the topsheet ( with Globe 999 it is possible to damage the table ...).
However even the Donic said speed-glueing is not recommanded I had no problems using Tibhar Rapid Clean .

That's true . Once accidentally I hit the table and take off the white paint from it. The rubber was OK.
Definetely the Globe 999 National is a great and durable rubber.

Well, I had my second session with IQ. Very different from the 1st. Still a bit dissatisfaying. Speed is here at last but surprinsingly hard to control. On current shots (drives, blocks) it's still on the slow side. Let's imagine sriver fx with 1 thin layer of speed glue. Then you start looping and wow here comes Mambo with 2 big layers of SG. Spin is still missing. Weight is low for a 2.2 thick sheet. In brief and in order to stick to the topic, it has nothing to with desto F2.
I'll keep testing it for a while cause I suspect it to be a new evolutive generation of rubber. It grows and changes every time you play it until it reaches its adult form. Just feed it with glue and dress it with diff blades untill it finds its match...
