Guys now we know that TIBHAR is getting rubbers from HaiFu.

Looks interestin but I prefer cheaper rubbers any day.

The rubbers play very similar to Blue Whale II, so most are quite convinced that it's the same rubber.

It's not clear from the description whether this is just a BWII rubber, or if it's actually the Tibhar one, being sold out the back door. Obviously Tibhar would not be impressed if CHina sells the Tibhar rubbers directly...

Surely the catalog is simply a mismatched picture, even if it happens to be something that plays close to the pictured Haifu product.

That is a picture of a Grip-S in a Haifu packet where it belongs. I guess Tibhar could be unhappy they are flogging them out the backdoor of the Haifu factory but at the same time doesn't the current run of the Grip-S use the current Haifu red sponge so these could be left overs?. Going by the purple sponge I guess this is the original Whale III, that's really a pro level rubber, so a good deal for that price surely? unless these are seconds

All I know or suspect apart from having used both Whale and Shark a fair bit is

Old gen rubbers
Tibhar grip-s black sponge = BWII
Tibhar grip-s purple sponge = BWIII
----------------------------------------------------------------------
New gen rubbers
Tibhar grip-s europe = BWII update/ red sponge medium hardness
Tibhar grip-s europe soft = BWII update/ red sponge soft hardness
Donic Traction MS pro = Shark II update/ red sponge medium hardness
Donic Traction MS pro soft = Shark II update/ red sponge soft hardness

The new ones are the best quality of all Chinese rubber I've seen apart from the Unicorn like unobtainable pro DHS stuff. DHS just don't have either the technology or desire to build thin and soft top sheets for the general public. With Haifu there are no unobtainable super secret factory special only Haifu rubbers which is great and they can build thinner sheets on mass than any other company. If it means anything the Haifu's must be the most common off the shelf inverted rubber used by players in the top 100 after Tenergy??? at least it seems that way, lots of the short pips playing pros are using Haifu Dolphin too :?:

The only real downside to them is that they are tuned heavy in the factory and it doesn't last all that long :headbang:

Wasn't Tuttle Beijing 3 close to Whale 3, but slower and untuned? If so it should last quite a while longer, without altering it's characteristics to much. However I think untuned/unglued Chinese rubbers aren't half as good as tuned/glued ones. So if you're happy with an untuned B3 rubber, I'm not sure.

Yes that was tuned. It's not as loud or fast as when it was new but still play really well. The good news is that it's still faster than most rubbers and more than fast enough to keep using so I'll keep it on the blade until about February or when it wears out. I have another new sheet here in the packet to replace it 8)

I'm only using the next sheet for backhand practice, it needs at least two rubbers worth of hitting before it's good enough to play a match :(

Hi Everybody

I am using Grip S Europe in black max on a Joola Fame Low defensive blade. I am returning serve better than ever. My loop has become a real force to be reckoned with and my forehand bocks are more disruptive.

The rubber is also excellent in short exchanges close to the net and is controllable for chop. I find with my setup that it is best used for attack over and close to the table. That would I think be different with a faster blade.

Bulldog.

I'm an out and out attacking player who relies on spin and speed, playing at varying lengths from the table. I recently changed bat, and opted for the new Tibhar Grip-S Europe rubber on my backhand. Since I got it in early November, I have been very impressed with the way it has played. Being the faster version of the original Grip-S, it has a very hard 45 degree red sponge, providing strong resistance and a very short catapult time (the professional phrase eludes me!), but also with slightly tacky surface allowing for good amounts of spin. I myself am not one inclined towards a tacky surface, but this has been very effective and taken my game to another level. Thankyou Tibhar!

I hope this has helped you, a rubber I would certainly recommend. :*: :*: :*: :*:

Incidentally, you can get Whale and Shark untuned (at least, in the "training" packaging).

And there's Training Donic Traction here:

Ain't cheap..
