Once the celluloid ball is gone and the new ball arrives, will everyone be looking for high spin rubbers?
I understand that the new ball won't have as much spin as the old one.

I might switch from T64 to T05, but that's all.

It's guaranteed that TT companies will come out with special expensive new rubbers and blades optimized for the plastic ball to replace our obsolete old equipment.

I'll be looking for an extra spin beer to enjoy at the club. Who else?

When it comes to beer, I'm more of a wobble guy. Sure would like to try a boost of the spinny stuff, though. I'll be joining you shortly.

I'm hoping the plastic ball doesn't enter our competition for a few years yet! Wishful thinking? Maybe!

Can't really say until I have tried the new ball. At this stage I will keep my current equipment, try it out, and if it really doesn't suit then I will change. But until I have had a hit with the new ball, it seems pointless to start thinking of equipment changes :^)

Well, I like spin and there is supposed to be less spin with this new ball. Make some lemonade out of the lemons I say and enjoy a beer before or after the club mathces, or even in between. Gotta get fun outta the new system somehow...

The new ball is out when? Fall of 2013? I expect most on this board will have gone through 2 or 3 different rubbers by this time-and that is just the NON-EJers!

I've already changed to a higher throw rubber as a pre-emptive strike against the non spinny fat ball :punch:

If the ITTF decided to make the new ball 38mm instead of 40mm, would it be better for the current modern game? I imagine it would be so, but it would still make a difference....

Premature to speculate as no final specification for the ball is yet extant.

I would shift to badminton and try those feathered balls

Just taking it lightly. I would try to play it for a while and assess my play with my current equipment.

The way it's going, you won't have to change to badminton ... I wouldn't put it past the overlords to eventually put feathers on TT balls!

Why don't they just inflate the balls with helium? Problem solved on all accounts! 8)

How about hydrogen????? Even lighter! And explosive. That's always a plus. I like explosions.....

Anyway, back on topic, I'll have to see what the new ball plays like. I personally wish they would get the switch over with. Wonder if Tacky or grippy rubbers will be affected more?
