I had a chance to try Tenergy 05. Wow, it is a pretty awesome rubber. Is there anything close in feel?

Nothing I have tried feels like it. There are others just as fast and just as spinny, but they don't feel the same.

I'm really laughing here... was this serious? You've been at a tt forum for a year, with over a 100 posts...

... maybe I'm hanging out at mytt too much. (or staying up too late right now)

Anyway, if you can get a good sheet of Haifu Shark II w/ red sponge, it's kind of close... but Haifu is a mixed bag so I wouldn't bother.

Meanwhile, grab a sheet of Donic Bluefire or Andro Rasant if you want to save some dough

p.s. stop by mytt and post this so I can watch icontek have an aneurysm

p.s.s. I edited my post to sound like less of a jerk ;)

Wow, I wish I understood the sarcasm. Why would icontek have an aneurysm because I asked a question about Tenergy 05?

Please enlighten me, oh Theologian.

yeah sorry man I just spend too much time at mytt.net :)

there's a thousand threads about tenergy substitutes, "what's the best rubber cleaner", etc

but you're at the right forum for a super patient bunch of members... as you could see if you look up my first posts when I was a total noob and everyone was very thoughtful

Also, you will find that the consensus among good players is that all existing rubbers, even if they have overall good performance, will feel different from Tenergy 05. The gap is narrowing to be sure. Also, everybody hates the price. I've not personally tried every "Tenergy substitute". But I've tried enough now to be skeptical, especially since several of them are in the 60 USD range, which means that if you are not entirely pleased, you are out a decent chunk of money.

Don't feel embarrassed. Somebody else will start a new Tenergy thread soon. And unlike you, some people do it just to start a flame war.

it's really a shame that Haifu Shark II red sponge didn't continue to be like the first sheet I got.... man, it was awesome
