Had to post this given I find it so fitting.

I had the chance to hit with 729 OEM 2.1mm the other day. It's $5 and you can get it from zeropong. This had one of the tackiest topsheets I've played with. Maybe not the very tackiest, but close. On the black side, I could lift the ball off the table for I'd say about 30 seconds before it would drop. The red was less tacky and could pick up the ball for about 10.

It'd say it has a medium sponge with a very tacky topsheet. Unbelievable value. Nice rubber. Try it.

Since this thread is about cheap Chinese rubber for spiny serves, I don't see how this one can be topped for the price.

Update April 2019 : with 40+ plastic ball
I've tried Three Nine super 999T-1 black 2.2 white sponge.
Price 4 euros

I used it now since 2 weeks for training and competition in France (regional level). I've paired it with butterfly Kong Linghui Special blade. Out of box without booster the super 999T-1 is too hard and slow. I strongly advise to use 3 layers of Seamon or Lidu to expand spin, softness and speed and transform this cheap rubber as the killing-machine! Of course you need to use leg and body to get the most for this type of rubber with plastic 40+ ball.

There's Reactor Corbor for $3.50 a sheet... And THAT has some real ultra-tack. In fact you have to play with it a little for the tack to reduce before you stop pushing into the net. We've been discussing it on the recent Reactor thread.

Could you please help me to find this rubber on the April 2019 ITTF list of approved coverings? I can’t find it :^) Thanks!

Wow.. he's right. 999 Corp. rubbers don't seem to be in the LARC any longer, though there are 999 rubbers galore. The Globe version (999, 999T) are both still listed, and should be virtually identical but considerably more expensive. You can still get the 999 Corp. 999T here, though:

Also:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2-Pcs-9 ... 73809.html

In addition - looks like 999-designated rubber is also sold by Juic and by XuShaoFa (the latter's offerings are being phased out). I think the 999 topsheet gets around - 999 used to OEM rubber for other brands, and I think they (or Globe) sold their topsheets to JUIC and others. The 999 topsheet uses some sort of older technology - I think it's vulcanized less, and therefore naturally tacky. Other sheets need some sort of glue layer on top of the rubber to make them tacky. But be careful - if you leave the rubber on a blade for several years you might find the topsheet melted into a sticky goo... ruins your bat case and other rackets that happen to be in contact with it. It's got one really good property - when it gets really humid, it doesn't turn slick like other rubbers do, so it's useful for making up emergency humid-weather bats. The sponge is a little different, too - it's kinda leathery.
