Hurricane 3 topsheet on Nittaku Japan made sponge. Is this good for a FH rubber? If Yes what BH rubber is good paired with this rubber? Please help, thank you!

does anybody know the Nittaku Hurricanes (without PRO)?

How do they play? More like the regular DHS Hurricanes, or the similar to the Neos or the 3-50?
And what about the sponge hardness? 37 like the 3-50 or closer to the 39 of the Neo?

Andi, I play the Nittaku Hurricane 3 Neo since a couple of years and it is like the DHS Hurricane 3 Neo Provincial with the 39º sponge in terms of quality and feel. It's a Chinese sponge and NOT a Japanese! What I really like about it is that the quality is always the same and I have ordered it from Japan as well as TT11; I always got the exact same rubber.

There are three kinds of Hurricane Rubbers with Nittaku labels:

- "normal" with DHS top sheet an Japanese sponge
- "Pro" "DHS specially manufacture according Nittaku quality requirement", maybe a kind of provincial version of the normal ones?
- "Neo" (at least similar to the Provincials)

The Nittaku Hurricane 3 Neo I use is cheaper than the DHS Provincials I see offered at various places and the quality is extremely consistent.

Nittaku H3 Neo is NOT tacky at all right ? It wont pickup the ball at all ? But its more grippy like Euro-style rubbers ?

Nittaku H3 neo is tacky. (it is, after all a H3 topsheet)

If I where to compare it to something, it would be a regular H3 Neo (I've never tried the provincial or similar versions)
It's more consistent than regular H3Neo, which I like. So I play with Nittaku H3 Neo.

I'm getting one again, according to the supplier, the hardness is medium to soft 38-37 ( no other hardness option) I don't know how true this is tho.

from what I know tho, the commercial have two types (dhs)
one which the hardness was defined as soft, medium, hard - i've tried soft on bh and medium on fh
the other they gave degrees to it ( I've only tried 39,40 )

chronicles of h3 in my own understanding and research. All in all a wonderful journey, can't wait to try others extensively when my level is up for it eventually.

fyi I saw h3 with tenergy sponge being dealt before in local website, and gosh i wonder how that would play. tried rising dragon , and would love to try mxs and tibhar k1 just to see how similar they are to h3 as well.

If you had checked DHS's website a couple years back you'd have noticed that all rubbers had sponge hardness listed in degrees (what was striking was some of the non-Hurricane sheets having much softer sponges - 33, 34, 35 degrees, for instance). And if you check the same website today, you'll notice the degrees are gone - they use "Med. Hard", etc. The H3 sheets I bought last year (after the WTTC) had no degree designations.
