Jatienza, you don't have to quote very big blocks of text :P

p.s. Welcome to the forum and you got a nice avatar.

Great review haggisv, maybe T80 will be worth a try when it comes out.

So T80 isn't for the new ITTF 80mm ball then?

The T80 also felt less bouncy, so it was actually easier to generate shorter balls with heavy spin.
The short game
It seemed to have a little firmer and 'deader' feel compared to the T05, making it easier to control the spin and pace.

Looping / counter-looping
Although the T80 does not quite have the same high arc of the T05, it's close and still very spinny.

The T80 is significantly less sensitive to spin, without really sacrifising it's other good abilities, so I think it will appeal to a wider range of players.

Blocking:
Blocking with the T80 was also very good, and once again the reduced sensitivity to spin compared to the T05 made it easier and more forgiving. Against power loops a firm block with an almost open bat face return the balls back fast and low. The T05 would always tend to pop up the spinnier ones, so the T80 made this significantly easier to play and place.

[Only post-relevant parts of quote retained above]

Thanks to both of you for the review.

From your description, it seems that they have (knowingly or unknowingly) matched to characteristics to some tensors that we know. Or, perhaps ESN was giving us what we wanted post-T05 all along ((i) T05-like spin on strong loops, (ii) not terribly impacted by spin on softer return of serves, (iii) not bouncy in short game, and (iv) better blocking) :)

No, it's called T80 because it costs $80 per sheet.

I did make the mistake trying a Tenergy 25 today. Holy ......

Now I have to raise $80 ... hmmmm, maybe I'll wait for the T80.

True. I wouldn't mind at all playing with Txx on the bat. There is a certain feeling...
However, at my level there is nothing I can do with Tenergy xx that I can't do just as well with, say, Sanwei T88-I. Feels a lot harder, not so "friendly", but still does it all.
Also, there are a few things I can do with the CK531 that I wouldn't dream of trying with a Tenergy :P .

So from the 5-10 minutes of total time with it, I really like Tenergy. Still, resisting the urge is not much of an effort. Not making that transition any time soon.

I'm continuously trying T05 and still haven't learnt to like it :s or even find it as good as Skyline 3 at any single thing :? :S I will persist because I'm sure at some stage I'll see the attraction so many people have to it.

I'm not sure that you will foam...it simply does not suit everyone... I'd pick a tacky rubber over Tenergy any day, for my game. I think my strokes are completely setup for the Chinese style rubbers... yours are probably the same.

I shortly played a friend's T05 for the first time yesterday and I wish I had not done that... What a looping machine! Will play it longer next week, but I'm thinking of ordering a Yinhe Mars II (1/5th the price of a Tenergy) first to check if that offers me a similar feeling.

Thanks for the great T80 review, Haggisv!
