I, for one, would be very interested in seeing the fake vs. real rubber, plus the story of how you were scammed, the difference in how the two differed in playing characteristics, etc.

It's easy to recognise a fake Tenergy (now ). The rubber has a dead look about it and the pimples don't show through the rubber. They feel heavy compared to a genuine rubber - fake one weighed in at 52 grs whilst the new one that I replaced it will came in at a lighter 49 grs. In play it feels like a slighter hard rubber and in the case of this T05 it felt a bit like a T25 which didn't suit me at all since more balls seemed to go into the net. The sponge also feels different with the genuine one feeling smoother. The packaging looks very authentic but there are tell tale signs particularly on the label on the top right which indicates the colour and the thickness. When I switched to the fake one my game lacked consistency.

I got this one secondhand from a Student that played for a while in the club and when I meet him next ;) I will ask him where he got it from. I had planned to 'pass it on' to a guy in another club but thought I would try it out and temporarily replace my T05 1.9 with a slighter thicker one. I wouldn't sell this on now that I know it's a fake. TBH it's of no use and would not even be suitable for a beginner bat due to its weight.

That was me. It originally came off a Friendship bat so you can probably guess where the original owner bought it from. To make it fit on the ZLC cutting it the bottom I was able to match the cut shape.

Could be the camera angle but the Genuine's detailing seems a lot sharper and crisper and more raised.

If someone offers you a Tenergy for twenty bucks, it's fake. That's one way. Okay, that line of thinking has it's flaws, because, no doubt, you'll visit your local marketplace and the guy selling TT rubbers is trying to get top dollar for his fakes. Funny thing is that the guy selling cheap Indonesian jewellery is doing the same thing. Hmmmm.

Buy from a reputable dealer!
