Hi, i have been table tennis for around 2 years. i have never had any coaching what so ever. i am very good at blocking and pushing the ball with heavy backspin and loop on both BH and FH quite efficiently.

Recently i was asked to evaluate my style of play and all i could say was that my main aim during play is to keep the ball on the table as long as possible and wait to get a weak return to get a point and after this i could only say that i play instinctively and there is no method to my game.....

Any suggestions are most welcome

Thanks

And Adrien Mattenet (Fra) and Mikael Appelgren (Swe).

Ouaiche has his own thread in the pips video section (not a pip player though).

Nothing in the OP suggests retriever to me. Retriever's play back off the table a lot and lob, and there's no mention of this. Retriever's, IME, don't tend to block so much and most don't loop too much. The OP sounds more like a developing 2 wing looper to me. With only 2 years in the game its natural to do a lot of pushing and probably even blocking as the looping game develops. If Zein were developing a retrieving game he wouldn't be so likely to develop blocking as he'd be backing off the table to "fish" more. Now Retriever, YOU are the retriever here, so please point out if I have missed something, because the retrievers I know don't tend to be strong on the characteristics mentioned in the OP.

I think Zein plays near the table. Try improving on your long range attack Zein and be an all around player. Good luck on your games.

Enjoy the game. It is a never ending learning experience once you play and keep the ball on that 45 sq ft of space or should I say half of that space.
