BH: Dawei388C-1 Medium pip ox
Stiga Chop & Drive: 1.1mm 1.5mm 1.8mm (available at paddlepalace.com)

A very high quality topsheet. I played with 1.1mm red. A very accurate rubber.
10% slower than Reflectoid, but a bit spinnier. A bit softer than Reflectiod.
Same speed as Tackiness Chop, but a bit less spinny. A bit harder than Tackiness Chop, but still softer than almost any other chopping rubber.
This slow rubber is very good for flat smashing against spinny loops. Even thought this rubber is very spinny, you can hammer against loops with accurate wide angle hits.

I think just about any Chinese rubber with a thin sponge is quite suitable for chopping. Not sure if it's worth adding them all to the list though.

NOTE, I am a recreational player! :)

I chop from below the table at middle to long range. :)

Butterfly Tackiness Chop 2
-Sponge sizes: 1.1 / 1.3 / 1.5 / 1.7 mm
-Review:
-Comments: also in 1.9 mm

Tested on Butterfly Defence Alpha, at 1.1 mm, 1.7 mm, 1.9 mm

This is my favourite rubber for chop and block play. :)

I need to chop flat due to very perceptible to spin. The return is a very flat chopped ball that stay low. :)

I prefer this than original Tackiness Chop.

A very high quality Japanses rubber. Not tacky. Has incredible spin for a non-tacky topsheet. A very accurate rubber.
Much spinnier than Reflectoid. Even spinnier than Tackiness chop. Medium hardness.
More speed than Reflectoid or Tackiness chop. A great rubber for mixing in medium speed loops with your chops.

I agree with deva sarjan:

His suggestion is a custom built rubber. zeropong.com supplies.

Black LKT Pro XT topsheet on 1.0 mm. HRS sponge

Very spinny, (this XT is the tacky version) medium speed, accurate. A very confident feeling combination.
A great rubber for mixing in medium speed loops with your chops. Medium density.

Nittaku Moristo DF on an OFF, OFF- or ALL blade gives me incredible spin on chops and pushes. I have yet to see a rubber with more desirable combination spin and control for my BH.

I am finally able to give the TSP Triple Spin Chop a longer test ride. I previously tried it when I borrowed it from another player. I loved it but didn't have it for longer than a day and really only tried it vs. robot and drilling. No playing. Felt amazing, but again, no game situations.

Believe it or not, right now I chop best with a fast 2.0mm tensor the Omega IV Asia.

I believe you. Reason below. :)

One fact that always overlooked,

Sponge and rubber shall always softer, more flex, and slower than the blade behind it, so

This yields several unadmitted truth,

- we need sponge thickness for more spin, not speed

- rubber and sponge speed should be written as negative value, how well it dampening ball speed.

- The fastest available rubber is Dr Neubauer Superblock, simply because it is not in the way of blade. Your loop wont land on the table off course. :)

I suspect it depends a lot on technique...I always get more spin from a tacky rubber for serves & pushes.

I think it's related to hand speed...like timing a jump on a trampoline... time it right and you jump high, time it wrong and you won't. Similarly the stretching of the topsheet (while brushing the ball to get spin) requires the right timing to get maximum spin. I'm probably hi-jacking the thread though.. perhaps I'll start another thread on this.

I would recommend sponge section, cause I find BLutenkirsche Japan Sponge is great sponge for chopping.

available in "any" thickness between 0.4 mm to max. I prefer 1.5 mm, good enough for looping, but safe enough for bh inverted chopping.

tried it behind Geospin Tacky and Pro XP, and several pips. on Pro XP, it gave similar feel with Tack 2. Similar speed and ball flight, and similar throw.

Will use it for a long time. :D

-Comments: I have used this rubber repeatedly in varying widths. Sadly, it is no longer readily available in the American market. When new, this rubber is by far the best all round rubber I have ever used. I say this as someone with a 2150 rating. It ages well, and with care, it lasts a long time: the sheet now on my racquet is at least four years old. I have become a much better chopper because of the control it offers, and I would like to obtain a new sheet. Unfortunately, I cannot find it anywhere.

This is truly an allround rubber, and it allows wonderful close to the table offensive capability. The one disadvantage that has happened to me at least twice, with the 1.2mm, is that the pips underneath are prone to break and then a bubble appears in the sweet spot of the racquet face. My initial recourse to this was to use my finger and literally massage the rubber, in an attempt to align the underlying pips, but this does not solve the problem, and over time the damage will spread. Another alternative is to use a box cutter blade (or a razor blade and make a very small incision beside the bubble, then with a toothpick or something similarly narrow, pry the broken pips out. This, of course, defaces the rubber, but, it does not affect the quality of play too much. Eventually, the damage will spread and the rubber will be beyond repair. I have only had this problem with the 1.2mm.

I am using a 1.5mm on my backhand now, and I want to go thinner, but, as I said, I can find it in the American market anymore. I recently ordered Juic 999 1.0mm and 1.5mm and will replace my Donic rubber with it.
