Any review on Gewo rubbers? This is a new rubber introduced here in the Philippines and I would like to give it a try. The review on table tennis data base is quite positive and I would like to hear from OOAK experts. At least I have some expectations before plunging

edit:

Gewo flexxon in particular

I too would be interested in seeing a review of the gewo rubbers & in particular the hype 42.5
On a call with contra.de & my local supplier they were giving it the thumbs up.
I'm looking for a replacement for the discontinued adidas tenzone ultra SF and the too expensive 05FX.
Have tried the omega v europe on the BH and felt it was more suited as a FH rubber plus it was surprisingly heavy at a cut weight of 50-51 grams on a XVE.

Are you looking at the flexxon 47.5 for the FH ?

I've been using Nanoflex (the softest sponge one) for 6 months or so and like it. Good solid tensor rubber. I have also tried Hype EL. Hype is vg but unfortunately the softest sponge is still too firm for me but Im sure it would be fine for most players taste.

Hi,

We just posted a very detailed review of: Gewo nanoFLEX FT48 / FT45 / FT40 rubbers to our blog. Read here: http://blog.tabletennis11.com/gewo-nanoflex-ft48-ft45-ft40-table-tennis-rubbers-reviews

I've read the reviews and used the GEWO ( pronounced Gee Voh) nanoFlex Ft 45.
I would agree with the review of this rubber.
I didn't like it for my forehand, but really liked it on the BH. Maybe ( as suggested in the review ) the Ft48 would be better in the FOrehand.

"The innovative revolution of nanoFLEX is the new development with the wow effect."

As usual, the blurbs on the packets really don't tell you much. And let me guess... more ESN Tensors? Hmmm.. actually not..

"a very tacky surface". This wouldn't be a Chinese topsheet would it? It does seem to have large pores in the sponge.

Anyone had much of a hit with any of the Gewo lines? The seem a fairly pricey rubber though not that popular. I'd be a little put off by this as I'd be reluctant to take a chance on a smaller brand when there are likely many other rubbers out there just as good that have been proven over the long term. Around the net I've found that they are a home brand of contra.de and that they are produced in Germany. Some are tensors, others not. There is also a suggestion that Palio or Haifu might have a hand in the production somewhere.

I had a try with a sample sent to us a few months ago last year.
It was good, but nothing special. Doesn't carry the weight/performance for the price.

I'll see if I can dug out the info on which one was it, one of the higher up series.

Edit: it was Hype EL 42. I just asked the sender.

People say Gewo NanoFlex FT48 is much like the lamented Adidas P7.

Gewo is very popular in Europe.

And just because the surface is tacky, doesn't mean it isn't an ESN rubber.... ;)

And just because the word "tacky" is in the description doesn't mean it actually is tacky.
