What in your opinion makes a good inverted chopping rubber? It's interesting that there are differing views on this, it is VERY dependent on the person doing the chopping and what they're used to... You will hear all sorts of opinions: Hard and soft. Fast and slow. Grippy and less grippy. Tacky and non. Thin and thick. Tensor Chinese It seems to me that the consensus for most folks is that thin/slow/tacky rubbers are best. For me, I prefer slow, thinner, and tacky for my backhand (Reflectoid/Tackiness Chop/TSP Chop), and thicker, grippy, faster, tensors for my FH. I can't pinpoint why, except for that I'm used to that combo. I am keen to get used to a tensor on the backhand because I find tensors better deal with extreme incoming spin better, where as tacky is 90% about matching the spin with racket speed. Although, this could also have something to do with taller pips, and softness. What are your opinions? After answering the poll, please state what rubbers you like best and why. For me the rubber must have good attack potential as well as good for chopping. I prefer mildly tacky (best for me for serves), fairly firm sponge (so that it does not bottom out on attacks), tensor (for good speed) and about 1.8mm thickness for good control. Victas 401 is the closest to my liking so far. Others I like are Grip-S euro, Juic 999 Turbo, Xiom Zeta. |

Already the poll is interesting. I'd like to hear from those who prefer tacky...why they like it for chopping. |

Ok, my rubber of choice is Bluefire JP03 which is between soft and medium, between average and fast, between thin and thick (1.8mm), between grippy and non-grippy and definitely non-tacky  The tackier your rubber, the more spin sensitive it is and the more difficult it is for chopping IMO/for me. |

I chopped a lot on my backhand using inverted rubber. I prefer thick and soft ( that should be the combination ) rubbers. Why thick? To be able to put pressure on the ball on my backhand drive. |

Thick, tacky, slow & Chinese for me. Mind you I am a retriever not a chopper, but I do chop. |

My favorite rubbers are: Between soft and medium, between thin and thick, between grippy and non-grippy = Donic Bluefire JP03 (1.8 mm or 2.00 mm.) Tacky, slow, soft rubber = Butterfly Tackiness Chop (1.9 mm) |
