Tackiest? Hurricane 3. :)

Softest? Tackiness Chop.

Other rubber, tack 2, super fx, pro xp, geospin tacky, sriver original, mark v original, barracuda, bluefire j3, h3 neo, etc.

Btw, I define tacky as sticky, so,

Dear Glen,

I am curious, what other rubber you have tried. :)

(So I can pinpoint the background of your answer)

BeGo asked: Dear Glen, I am curious, what other rubber you have tried.

ANSWER:

The tacky rubbers that I have tried are:

Nittaku Moristo DF, Stiga Chop & Drive, Globe 999, Hallmark Greenpower, Friendship SST Cross, Dawei Super Power 2008, Butterfly Tackifire, Geospin Tacky

The Butterfly Tackiness Chop was the only rubber that could pick up a ball for more than 1 second! Tackiness Chop picked up the ball for at least 10 seconds every time.

After more than 6 months I can still drop a ball onto my bat with H3-50 and when it stops bouncing I can turn the bat around and the ball will be stuck for a second or so. If I place my bat on the ball (between sets) it is stuck for several seconds when I lift my bat. I always have a plastic film covering the rubber when not playing and I clean it with water only. All my H3 has been like this.

My LKT XP Pro held a ball from the morning until the end of my school day once. I had used it a year or so before and then I glued it on my blade again and thought it was tackier than I remembered so I picked up a ball with it and it just wouldn't fall off unless I tilted the racket. So I picked it up and then put the racket hanging out over the end of a table and went to school, when I came back 8-9 hours later the ball was still hanging there... Not sure if anything happened to it during that year it was just laying around but to my knowledge it was like when I bought it.

Xp pro is non tacky. Perhaps you meant xt pro for tackiness or that xp pro is soft?

Oops my bad! Then it must've been the XT, whichever's the tacky one.

I have a sheet of Pro XP that is VERY tacky, like a new H3N, maybe even more. I played with that rubber for amlost a year and I haven't played it for 4 years now and the ball still sticks for many seconds to the rubber when holding the racket upside-down, so Auzcar could be right it is XP.

Wow, I stand corrected. :o Must be some variance which is not surprising. Table Tennis DB has several people saying non-tacky and several saying tacky. Every sheet I've seen, which is about 4, they are all non-tacky.
