Don't know if they discontinued it, but I used to use it and liked it a lot, except that it would stop working when it was humid, so I switched to the Yasaka Rakza 7 Soft and found it to be pretty close.

I don't think it's discontinued, it's still available.

I use Rakza 7 Soft with a 1.8 sponge. Like Yanus, it has good control and creates lots of spin while being relatively spin-insensitive. Never tried Rakza X, though my understanding is that it's a bit harder.

for rakza 10, like rakza 7, they also have rakza 10 soft, wonder how they compare.

That might be so, but a lot of things are not in their catalogue, while they're still available. Since OOAK shop is a XIOM distributor, we can see it's still available, and they normally give us plenty of notice if something is going to be removed. Since it's their only defensive rubber, I doubt they will discontinue it... but I could be wrong.

It's still on the ITTF approved rubber list.

good to know.

i don't trust the so called agent of xiom in my country. he has some funky business style. which i dislike.
just a few weeks ago a fellow player (haggisv, you know him, he told me he played with you several times already, he lives there in your city) asked about adidas rubbers and blade. he just bought some. i told him that adidas is going out of business, already made their announcement etc. he told me the agent told him that adidas is just doing some management changes, but would still be doing business. I think this is wrong, misleading information, just to assure buyer to purchase the stuff.

recently fellow member is in need of yanus to replace her old yanus. i couldn't get it from a couple of stores in town, and was asking in the local forum about it. someone mentioned he got info from the agent that the yanus is discontinued.

i tried searching the info with google but couldn't find any and search here as well, then started this thread asking.

You can still get it from tsbletennis11.com, all colour/thickness combos available. I'm currently using Victas v15 limber which I think would make a good replacement for 2mm yanus. Not sure what could sub for the 1.5 though.

I've sent XIOM the question, hopefully will have a conclusive answer shortly.

Adidas is still in business, will probably be in business for years to come. Now, they ARE getting out of the TABLE TENNIS business!!! But you'll still be able to buy soccer boots from them well into the future, I'm sure.

(In the old days, that's all they ever sold - soccer boots... )

well, in that context i was referring to that seems like i can't trust the agent's information as he often give misinformation, the adidas incident was just one of the examples.

but, would actually be good to hear the reply from xiom directly. i used to have correspondent with xiom, but then he moved to adidas, and now starting his own company...
