Post subject: | Opinions on these Chinese Rubbers for my BH.....Please. |
Hey all, I'm putting together my first racket to play after a long absence. I thought I'd go with an ALL or ALL+ setup and have been looking and asking about Chinese sheets to compliment the way I want to play. On my BH I plan on doing some topspin returns and chopping. I won't be doing any looping or attacks. There might be an occasion where I will be able to put some pace on the ball with topspin if I get the right ball to the BH side. I am also going to try and learn to do some spinning serves on this side too. I had a member contact me and help me with some recommendations. He told me I should seriously consider Gambler Reflectoid. I thought before I buy it, I might as well ask about a couple others I have also looked at and thought, based on the data listed for them at the TTDatabase, that these too might work well. Friendship 729 Super FX-C Friendship 729 Super FX Gambler Outlaw (soft yellow tuned) All of these have a low-medium throw angle and higher than usual tackiness which I thought would come in handy for serves. What do you think? Which would you go forif you were building up a racket for your pal that wanted to play and wanted an ALL or ALL+ setup? Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks for your time. Larry |

Skip forward to 7:04 or so.. "You are confused by many Chinese rubber: Hurricane, Skyline, Tinarc, H3, H2, H8, National, Provincial, Commercial.." I agree with him. Try mounting any two of the rubbers you mentioned on opposite sides of the same blade and tell me if you can tell the difference. In a lot of cases _I_ can't, and I've tried a lot of them. Sometimes you can, but you actually have to stop and think about what you're feeling. Want a recommendation? Buy this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2x-Galax ... 53505.html Wait for it to go on sale and you can probably save 80 cents (i.e. 40 cents a sheet!)... Anyhow - it happens to be my favorite backhand rubber. Not that it probably makes any difference - any of the half dozen $5 sheets out there that you can buy will play more or less the same, as will a huge number of $10 sheets. Iskandar |

I'd have to agree with Iskandar, in a blind test I doubt you could tell the difference, or even if you could, I doubt it would make any difference. Chinese rubbers are all very similar. Just get any one of those and work on your technique. |

You might find FX-C is better on the BH side if you have a very strong BH stroke. SuperFX is much better on the FH side as it has much more speed that FX-C. |
