I have a 25 year old Grubba/Sriver 2.0 times two racket.
I used it the last time i played, but even if if feels as before it has lost some tackiness.

I play with a lot of spin in my serves, as most.
I use close bachand play, and quick wristsmash when I can.
Forehand is my weakest side, I smash but more straight and hard, some loop once and a while.

I know a lot has happened in 25 years, but will try to get started again using rubber not to different from what I am used to, amd then evolve.

What do you suggest?

It may sound odd, but why not trying out a Galaxy N9 with Reactor Corbor first (sub $20 whole bat), then after some weeks or month changing at least the FH-rubber with a more speedy, maybe somewhat harder rubber better suited for smashes?

Within the last 25yrs the ball has changed size and composition, the old setup - even if it were completely new - wouldn't feel the same, and the suggested cheap setup does feel a lot like an allroundblade+Sriver setup from >20yrs ago.

Why not try just a new set of Sriver rubbers into the old blade? Sriver is still quite popular, and a new sheets is going to feel a whole lot more lively and grippy. The old blade is probably just fine, so no need to change it.

I have always played Butterfly, and plans to try another brand.

I started with Kenny/Tempest
http://thumbs1.picclick.com/d/w1600/pic ... Paddle.jpg
Then I bought a used Super-Sriver
Third I bought a Jonyer-H/ Tackiness-D
Last the Grubba/Sriver combo.

I was thinking a Yasaka racket this time.

The one I have read up to is
Silver Carbon blade, straight
One side with 2.0 or 1,8 Mark V or GPS
One side with Rising Dragon 2.0 or Max.

Have anyone tried this combo ?

From memory lane...
Kenny/Tempest, nice allround/control setup. IIRC the Super Sriver was almost like a half-anti, so more control and less speed on the Kenny Style but still power to allow for a hitting style.
Jonyer-H, different blade altogether. Good speed and flex for an offensive style. Probably excellent setup for looping style with the Tackiness Drive, as long as your technique is sufficiently polished. Not a large margin for errors with that setup.
Grubba, more of an allround blade with firmer Sriver rubber, so a more balanced combo than the Jonyer.

Haven't tried the specific combo you are looking at now. Judging by the ratings for other blades on the Yasaka web site, and assuming that my memory of older equipment is about right, I suspect that the new combo will be a little "livelier" than the Jonyer Hinoki with Tackiness. On the other hand, the ball has changed, so a "lively" setup from back in the day will be more controllable now.

You could also try the 729 fx soft or KTL pro XP (my rubber of choice) on your Jonyer blade if you still have it. Looks like TTEX has them both in store, so if you are in Oslo it is just a quick trip down to town. Parkveien, right behind the royal palace. You may have a pleasant talk with Tom Johansen (who will want to sell you something more expensive than those cheap chinese rubbers). He knows his stuff so you won't get bad advice, but it may be a good idea to take a quick look at the TTEX website first so you get an idea of what to expect...

And then you're contradicting yourself with the proposed setup.

Naah. Just get a couple sheets of this:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2x-Gala ... 53505.html

and then order this blade:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Sh ... 30858.html

Ask them to glue the rubbers onto the blade. Total damage: $22, including shipping.

Hm don't be too discouraged to try them, nowadays chinese stuffs are just well made as the europeans stuffs, maybe worse qc but definitely worth the try with the pricing they offer.

I am sure, but if we stop buying from other manufacturers than chinese, just due to price, not many jobs will be left!

^ there's market for everything, just like cars there's ppl who prefer performance over elegance, some just wanna get the best value for money.
Same with tt as well, best value to perfomance ratio is always a good thing, there will still be ppl who are willing to pay for that extra price tags for better qc better aesthetics etc. Despite me myself going to the more expensive route in tt right now, I can't imagine a world where all the companies went to the high end route like butterfly and nittaku is doing, that just hinders ppl from taking a plunge into tt, I'm happy there's a brand like sanwei and dhs and friendship, at least I can recommend cheap stuffs to my mates whos starting out in table tennis and with those equipments they would in the end fell in love with the game more and more.

I don't think you have to worry too much about the table tennis balance of payments between China and Europe - Stiga exports a LOT of blades to China. Supposedly among the top selling brands.
