Hi all, recently switched from Evolution FX-P to Energy 325 soft as I was looking for more control and less catapult effect.

Have to say despite being wary of the soft sponge to begin with, I am finding it a very easy rubber to play with.

Pushes and chops are a breeze, control is very good and blocking effortless.
Smashing could be faster but you can't have everything and I'm finding them fast enough.
My only criticism if I have one is it's not overly great in the spin department which is probably down to my technique or rather lack of it!

Anyway, I found various reviews on this rubber and a common opinion is that it doesn't last very long before it needs replacing.
I'm hoping that these reviews were isolated cases of maybe a poor batch and that they last longer than a couple of months or so.

Like most of us I don't have an endless budget for equipment and just in case they don't last too long my question to you all out there is this.

Has anyone gone from the Energy 325 soft to something else that they find is a good equivalent or are there other soft sponged rubbers with equal control, not necessarily faster but maybe a tadge spinnier.

thank you for any input :)

cheers.

Hi. You could try Xiom Vega Elite. It is slightly firmer but still very soft and very spinny

Xiom Vega was my first thought as well, Europe version instead, but both should do well.
