I thought the click was only really with the celluloid ball. All I hear at the club now is a crunchy KAKK from bottoming out a carbon blade. I personally like it way more.

This guy says Hurricane 3-50 clicks.

However, it's when he HITS the ball. When he loops, there's less of a click. I mean, doesn't EVERYTHING "click" when you hit the ball? Even hardbat? Hardbat would actually be the loudest of the lot!

Iskandar, sounds like you haven't heard the 'click' if you had you would know exactly what we mean. Its unique and only a few rubbers do it. Its not the blade and I'm not really sure what it is or why it happens but I like it.

There was a guy at my first club that was all about the click. He was using some Xiom rubber, if I recall correctly. Not sure which. Guessing Vega Pro?

Ahh yes Xiom rubbers definitely have a "click" sound when brush just right. Xiom Vega and Omega IV / V all "click" to some extent. I don't think Chinese rubbers will ever go click sponge too hard ? Topsheet too tacky I dunno. So far all Chinese stuff go thwack or boom and sadly no click

I hear a "click" sound with my Andro Rasant when I loop-drive on forehand. I have glued it with Haifu Whale II on 5 ply all wood 729 z1 blade.

My MX-S clicks when I counterloop, but no such sound when I hit or play an opening topspin

I can only conclude that different people mean different things. The tabletennis11 reviewer says H3-50 clicks when he drives and hits, and clicks a lot less when he loops. Most other people talk about the clicks when looping and not when driving/hitting. I've used Rasant, didn't notice any unusual sounds when looping OR driving.

My coach wants me to brush loop. I am using Hurricane 8, and when I hit hard, I get what I call a click, but he says is not a click and is evidence that I have not looped as he wants. When I loop, the sound is entirely different, much lower pitch and volume, and he calls that a click. So I can tell a difference, but darned if one thing is a click and the other isn't. Terminology here, as with all things, is a problem.

During the week I changed rubbers and put my Baracuda on my current Yasaka Extra Blade. Although it wasn't loud, I did hear the tensor 'click' every now and then. Also noticed a little on my backhand. Not as loud as the Victas V01 but it was there.

Note that its not just the sound of the blade as my two blades that I've used have really different tones but the click of the rubber was the same on both.
