Leatherback, are you familiar with chinese hybrids like Battle II and Big Dipper? If so, can you compare them to YRD? Thnx

Sorry I'm not that familiar...however I heard that battle 2 is basically a Chinese made Euro rubber....soft non tacky...not a hybrid.

Much harder. Much tackier. Much more Chinese.

When butterfly has said "we have a tacky rubber" in the past is has just been really really grippy. YRD actually comes with a plastic sheet stuck to it like the hurricane series.

Grrr... now you make me want to try it. :swear: :swear: :swear:

You'd probably like it Alex. Not as tacky as some of your usual FH rubbers, but it's up your street for sure.

I prefer K1, which is almost like a semi-tacky baracuda, but they're both great.

I'm using the 401 currently, which is only slightly tacky.

What is K1?

Yup.

Alex - here is Hybrid K1, if you want to see the packaging.

http://ttnpp.com/store/tibhar/853-tibha ... -k1-6.html

It's basically the usual semi-tacky ESN topsheet (quite soft) on what looks like an older-gen sponge (looks like the Adidas P7 sponge to me, porous, no obvious tuner smell). The K1+ has a harder sponge. Good rubbers, cheap, much more user-friendly than Xiom Tau, but not available in thin sponge sizes like VS>401.

Thanks guys!

Strange how Tibhar (Germany) don't even mention it on their website, nor is it on their price list (OOAK is a Tibhar distributor)! :o Perhaps it's only for their Chinese market?

It is. It's one of these odd ESN rubbers (Like Xiom Musa III China) that pops up on the LARC and never seems to make it outside of China. Which is a shame, because it's really good and does a solid job in this new-ish middle ground that hybrid rubbers operate in. Cheap too. I ordered my first sheet via a Taobao agent, but now that it's appearing on general websites (well, ttnpp so far anyway) I'm giving it a second look.

Been a while since I've relapsed into my old EJ ways, but I might have to give this one a try. Not sure whether to thank you or hate you :D

Interresting

Leatherback, is it high throw like H3? At tabletennisdb they rate it medium throw. I know that rating on tabletennisdb is sometimes off but.....

I'm interested to see if this Chops better on the FH than Tenergy 05 and how much I will lose on the loop. I've tried it before but never on my current blade...
