Looking for a cheaper alternative to Tenergy 25, basically a rubber for close-to-table play, blocking, driving, and looping only against backspin.

maybe something from the evolution series?

Almost any rubber out there is a cheaper alternative to Tenergy...

It's quite hard to give advise on this bare to none information. How often do you change the rubbers anyway?

EL-P may give you a similar or better experience, but you can also give Xiom Omega V Pro a try.

Sanwei T88-I is very similar pimple structure, but the top sheet is tacky.
Which is a characteristic that some consider an improvement.
As the T25 has short wide pips that require substantial power to get through to the sponge, so a tacky top sheet should help with spin production on low to medium power shots.

The T88-I is not the lightest rubber.

I've played with both the sanwei and the Tenergy, but probably more than a year apart and not with the intent to compare them.

I played T25 for several sheets, employing a style similar to yours. Eventually moved on to others, the latest/greatest in that vein being Xiom Omega IV Elite.

I actually think for the style of play you describe, there's nothing much better than some flavour of Hurricance. Probably Hurricane 8 these days. Pick your sponge hardness.

I used to play with TG3; which I believe has the same sponge as H3. Very good at blocking. You can almost buy 4 sheets of TG3 or H3 for a sheet of Tenergy.

There is no other alternative to the T25 than the T25...

What about yinhe sun. It has the same wide pips but more likely not the speed or the spin of T25.But if it comes close to it at around 70-80% its worth a try.

Slightly off topic here, but I have struggled to find a blade to suit the 755ox, and so far only the TibDef50 blade which is slow, flexible and soft, what is your blade like, did you have any problems to pair up th755ox?
