Ironically,

I can vote that Tackiness Chop are softer and faster due to easier bottoming out than H3, making it less affected by incoming spin, assuming the ball fast enough.

Going by this logic, Chtchetinine equipment a lot faster than Ma Long :P

Before Tenergy, Vic Pavlovich use Tac C

Takashima Norio use Plous, now comparable to Flextra

Telnoy use Marder both side

I use tenergy a good bit, too. But coming to terms with it... I don't have the hours of training (or even a coach!) to really make those effective. They're better for power blocking and top end shots, yet I get more points on the short game and consistent balls on the table using slower rubbers.

Some of my blades used tenergy on one side and something like reflectoid on the other. In game, my tenergy side went long MUCH more often. Whereas the reflectoid was more prone to hitting the net or going short. If that is your conundrum, something like tackiness chop 2 might be a better compromise. I'm speaking mainly of chopping here. Even geo spin tacky.

I find it easier to use slower rubbers since they naturally cushion the shots. With faster ones like tenergy, if you get caught out and do a quick 'reaction' type shot, it's more prone to going long. The slow rubbers take the pace off to keep it on. I think it's easier to add pace when needed, rather than to remove power from incoming shots especially when moving around. With tenergy spring type, you get a shot now and then going WOW THAT WAS AWESOME! however... the other 90% of your hits are going every which way. Pushes are harder to control as well.

Hi.What thickness do you prefer.
I have tac c in 1.9 on a cut down grubba pro-i really like it and i get a lot on the table when attacking.
the tac c in 1.9 is excellent on a defplay aswell.
i have anti on the b/h-i do not flip though as the 1.9 is too fast .

1.9 as well is my preference. Spinlord marder is a great one also, if you like the slow choppers. I call it the "black hole" of rubbers. Everything dies on it, almost like an anti.

still using 1.9mm on the f/h of a defplay and best anti in 2mm
i tried tac c in 1.3 but didnt really like it.
im bidding on 1.7mm on e bay and need to try 1.5.
my gut feeling is that 1.9 tac c 1 is for me.
for flipping i think that 1.1 may be the way to go.forehand looping will be poor though

On paper, marder so similar to tack chop 2 :)

I use Spinlord Marder II 1.5mm both on FH and BH on a Spinlord Defender blade.
Very reasonable speed, and good feel. I am used to playing with a Sanwei M8 blade and 729 general rubbers in MAX thickness. This combo does feel a little bit slower, but the accuracy and gears are better.

Spinlord Marder II is reasonably slow, though the Marder I is supposed to be slower.

Nikolay Telnoy played Marder II on BH and FH, but has now switched to Spinlord Tiger on BH.

For my level (intermediate beginner) this is a great setup with lots of control.

If anyone's looking for something REALLY SLOW and CHEAP... Try Reactor Ckylin. Both the older "regular" sponge and the newer "big pore" sponge are waaaaay slower than anything I've tried recently, even 999T. I'll have to admit not having played with Tackiness Chop for more than (good grief..) almost 30 years.. so I can't compare it with that.

I Think the downside would be that these rubbers only come in MAX sponge thickness.
The plus side is that they only cost 2,95 USD @ Eacheng at the moment ;)

I have a theory that it's slow because it's meant to be boosted :P

Played with original Tackiness Chop many years ago and loved it. If Ckylin is slow as per Iskandar then its just my ticket. A couple of sheets on order from eacheng for trying at some point. At eacheng's current bargain price, there is nothing to lose ;)

I've been on an EJ-journey for the last few months and finally found the combo which I will be using for a few months. Not planning on going there again before the end of next season

But still, I'm interested to hear what your experiences are

REACTOR Ckylin – what a rubber! Slow, oodles of control, imparts very good spin on serves, blocks very well and offers very controlled attacking with good placement due to superb grip. Besides it pushes and chops effectively too. The blue sponge is quite soft with good absorption. I glued a sheet onto a Yasaka Sweden Classic with long pips OX on BH. Love it and cannot fault its performance. Speed is somewhere between the old Butterfly Tac C and Tac D (nearer Tac D) with equal performance at a fraction of the cost. Overall a good rubber at a very cheap price. Certain thumbs up from me for my playing preference.

Having played with H3, I can confirm it's WAY slower than H3. With H3 I'd push and it'd go over the net. With Ckylin, it'd end up maybe an inch short of the net!

Yup, tried that...

I'll just have to say it's just WAY too slow for me. But if you want an example of a Chinese rubber that's radically different to all the other Chinese rubbers out there, this is it. The others do differ a little bit from each other, but not really all that much.
