Yasaka Valmo – Red
Marketing Information
Is the rubber of the new technology "JP HYBRID" equipped to combine the sponge with a very high tension effect on the top sheet with a natural rubber mainly with the high grip force and spin performance. It is a universal rubber to draw the stability preeminent parabola in the comfortable feel at impact while having a high spin performance and repulsion.

First Impressions
Upon first impressions I liked it – it is soft and has a good overall feel to it. When compared to the Yasaka Rising Dragon it looks different – it is more traditional in its look and feel i.e. is not as tacky and is not heavy or dense.

Summary of Observations
The Valmo rubber enabled me to generate good speed and spin yet provided me with good control around the table.

The rubber plays well when either close to the table or from mid range and also is a nice feel on the block. The rubber feels stable (contrary some rubbers are so highly tuned that they ‘ping’ around and players lose control).

Valmo allowed me to generate good counter loops and smashes and I felt like I had good touch on the control. I found the ball trajectory to be higher and ‘loopier’ than the Rising Dragon however the throw was not as deep.

Recommendation
I found the rubber played well – it enabled me to generate good speed and spin and provided good overall control. Whilst not at the upper end for speed, this was offset by the control that it provided me.

Overall, I thought this rubber is a good all round rubber for a player that likes a bit more control and likes to use spin in their game.

Nice, that's the first review I've seen on this new rubber.

So how does it compare to the MX-P that you're using?

I heard /read somewhere that Yasaka Valmo is a better/improved version of MarkV. Could you compare and tell us if Valmo is better than MarkV ?
