I just notice the picture of this new rubber, and it's actually got the Tensor logo on the cover, and the rubber is made in Germany, so it should be a real Tensor.

Does anyone know anything about it?

Hi

Ordered one last week from aliexpress for 32 euro.

Some info in link below..
https://www.tabletennisdaily.co.uk/foru ... Gold-Arc-8

European style rubber.

Tell you hopefully soon how it plays. Can compare it with a lot of rubbers. Playing now with rasanter R47 and butterfly 05

Greetings!

Can't say we know very much about Gold Arc 5 and 8 but we've been discussing them here for a while.

viewtopic.php?f=44&t=25211&start=345#p333404

More posts about them later, too. You can get some pretty hard sponge (50 degrees) with 8. 5 is softer, it's a BIOS but not a Tensor, but it's made in Germany.

Here is (one of) the description:
The rubber surface of Goldarc 8 has great elasticity like a bended bow and enable players produce powerful friction; the big high-density pimple design provide more elasticity and rebound energy, allow players feel great as the ball hit the surface with minimum effort. The clear sound bring more confidence for players.

Goldarc 8 is an excellent rubber with great power and high speed, creating a lot of tension to the rival in all-round attack. Suitable for both forehand and backhand players.

This highly elastic non-sticky rubber sheet is jointly developed by DHS Development Center and German experts in rubber sheet production in collaboration with the multiple world champions including Wang Liqin and Ma long.

The 'big highdensity pips' reference makes me think it's more of the hitting/blocking rubber, rather than a looping rubbers... but you never know... ;)

I think it's the first Tensor from DHS.

I think you're right Haggisv.

For looping/spin the Goldarc 5 will be better............

I hope its more durable than 3 months.

Greetings

I doubt this. GA5 isn't a variation of GA8 - it's really different. GA5 is one of the "classic"-style ESN rubbers, like Xiom Musa for example. Spin is OK but not amazing, speed is low and catapult is minimal. GA8 is a proper, full-fat tensor.

Hi,

So, finaly played with the GoldArc 8(medium, 47,5). Put it on the DHS Long 5. First impressions after a 4v4 friendly match against team 2 at my club.

It's, as expected, certainly an "European style" rubber. I use to play with Tenergy 05 and Rasant Grip and R42/R47. GoldArc 8 is really fast, even faster than Tenergy and Rasant. Spin/loop was also good and I could produce a lot of backspin when I was pushing. Counter looping was also at the same level as the other rubbers. Spin on serves was also very good. Control was (for me) a lot less compared to the Tenergy and Andro rubbers. Probably because its so fast. On the FH the lower control was not a problem but i struggled with this rubber on my backhand. Pushing was OK but blocking and chopping was more difficult than I'am used to. Maybe next time the control will be better because it was my first session with the new rubber.

Speed: GoldArc8>Tenergy 05>Rasanter R42
Spin: GoldArc8=Tenergy05=Rasanter R42
Control: GoldArc8<Tenergy 05<Rasanter R42

I will update my impression later and I hope I can control it better.

Greetings

Hi all,

Played another 3 times with GoldArc8 and i must say i'am not disappointed. I can control it much better. I play it now mainly on my BH because i like the Hurricane 8 more on my FH. With a high ball i twiddle because the goldarc 8 is much better in smashing than de H8.

Speed: GoldArc8>Tenergy 05>Rasanter R42
TopSpin: GoldArc8=Tenergy05=Rasanter R42
Backspin/push: GoldArc8=Rasanter R42>Tenergy05
Block: GoldArc8=Tenergy05>Rasanter R42
Control: GoldArc8<Tenergy 05<Rasanter R42
Chop: GoldArc8<Tenergy05<Rasanter R42
Smash: GoldArc8<Tenergy05<Rasanter R42

Will play it for a few weeks and than decide which rubber I gonna choose beside my H3 Neo Prov blue sponge.

H8, Rasanter R42, Tenergy 05 or GA8...................

Greetings

Interesting that Gold Arc 8 was the choice of two of the winners on the recent blade and rubber giveaway.

Think the rubber is little bit hyped. ;)

http://www.tabletennisdb.com/top-rubber/spin-desc.html

It's good but it has not the most spin of all the rubbers...........

You actually trust anything on TTDB? Only 7 ratings so far for GA8.

Actually, I don't mind the ratings so much (especially when you find rubbers with 100+ people rating it). It's most of the reviews that I find laughable, especially when it comes to Chinese sheets. I've tried a lot of them and can't see any of the differences these people write about.. You know, like "this one's better for looping" and "this is better for hitting than that rubber". When I try them I can barely tell the difference between them.
