These are fast highly offensive rubbers and I notice they are available in 1.4mm. What style of play would this thickness support? Would it retain much offensive capacity in 1.4mm?

I guess I'll just have to try it. ;)

Close to the table chop-blocking and flat hitting?

Probably. I was wondering if in 1.4 it would have the stability and control required for reliable chopping whilst retaining enough power for close to mid distance looping & drives.

I changed from Mark V to Marder 11 which has lots of grip/spin and is better for chopping but lacks a little fire power for fast topspins. Maybe I should just try Marder IV.

Close maybe but not middle. It'd probably bottom out.

It would be the opposite,

The ability to create spin and vulnerability to spin became limited, and

Your flat hit will became less dampened by the rubber, faster but harder to push down with top spin, which,

Actually make it easier to hit harder from longer distance, because You would not over loop the ball, with better control for blocking. Your short game would suffer though. ;)

It's difficult to find offensive rubbers that are also great for chopping, but I think that I am narrowing the field.

I just got some Marder 11 1.5 black, bouncing the ball on it 3 or four bounces and the ball dies! I like the look of this one ,even though the sponge is fairly soft the sponge /topsheet combination feels dense enough for close to mid looping without bottoming out,I will be treating it with Falco long booster to get the required speed and along with the high grip I have high hopes for this one ,just wondering if it`s good enough to take the booster!

I have it in 1.8. Haven't tried boosting. I can loop with it, even from mid distance, but there's no catapult so it requires some effort to do it repetitively.

I'm too lazy after Tenergy, I tried H3 it required more effort for less reward even boosted, heaviest underspin serves and pushes I've ever produced though. The Marder11 is more elastic
