Hi!
I switched my LP to inverted, putting my very old sheet of Hexer Powersponge, and it was very good move. After 1st training I had similar scores to these having with LP. I put STN on new blade Yinhe t7s (Hinoki+arylate, 5-ply) as my FH, Hexer is BH. FH side has perfect power, can attack near the table and away from it without using all of my strenght. BH is nice too, I like softness of rubber at BH. However it lacks of spin (used rubber), Hexer Powersponge is hard to buy because it's old rubber, and there are better rubbers similar to this one. I play short loops (opening attack, then attacking with FH), hits/loops and active blocks with my BH, very rarely chops, only when I can't attack. After switching from LP I have problems with serve retturn and new rubber should be quite insensitive to spin but without overstatement, it's not that bad ;) I play celluloids balls but from 2018's October I begin playing PCV balls.
So which modern rubber should play similar to Hexer Powersponge? After reading some topics I think about Gold Arc 5/Tin Arc 5 with 42,5 sponge (nice price and I love chinese equipment, just bought Hurricane 8 for my FH), maybe Tibhar FX-s?

Blade: Victas Koji Matsushita
FH: Andro Rasanter r47 2.3mm
BH: S&T Hellfire 0.9
Half way through reading I was thinking that tin arc 5 would be a solution, and then seeing that you were thinking about it, I think it is the right move. It's very spiny, and has quite nice pace. Pretty soft which is what I love about it and has a great feel for the ball. A while back I used it on my backhand and I felt it didn't lack anything, don't use it anymore though just because I've transitioned to a chopper with LP on back hand. It's also pretty cheap compared to other big names like tenergy and mantra, but IMO is even better.

Good luck finding your new rubber!

Nice! And what is the difference between GA5 and TA5? Sponge hardness are the same and topsheet is different?

Hexer PS is a high quality rubber in my experience. It’s still popular and available at most suppliers it seems? Anyway, Rakza 7 soft is another BH rubber that I see being used a lot.

@Dusty054 I wasn't me if I don't test something new :D

I have one more option- maybe Rasanter R42? I played with Rasant Beat which was too slow, but Rasant PowerSponge on my friend's blade was nice, Grip too (on fh). I heard Rasanters are light even with 2.3mm sponge. My blade is now 198gr so it's quite heavy. Maybe go this way? ;)

No worries I certainly understand the EJ part ;)
Rasant PS would seem to be the next logical step from Hexer PS but R42 will give you something a little firmer & faster. I don't think any weight difference would be significant.

How about Rasanter's spin on celluloid balls? I play rather for speed than spin, more killshots and aggresive attacks than looping 10 times to get a point :D So rasanter should suit my style. However it's made for new balls and don't know it will be as good with old balls. At one forum I read that Hexer is most spinny, Rasant is balanced and Rasanter has less spin and more speed, but I think it's due to new 40+ balls people play with Rasanter.

Differences between rubbers aren't dramatic, but subtle. I wouldn't worry about it so much - just buy one and try.. it doesn't cost THAT much.. :lol:

You are right. I ordered Rasant Powersponge- i know this rubber, it's next step after Hexer powersponge and when I start playing 40+ i can do a next step to Rasanter :)
