Does anyone know the exact sponge thickness of the sanwei target max? Megaspin has this rubber I want, but only in max thickness. And if the thickness of max is over 2.1, I would appreciate it if someone can point me to a place where I can buy it with a thinner sponge

Thanks

Why are you wanting a thinner sponge?

I have played STN blue sponge, and a range of H3 rubbers.

STN's blue sponge is less powerful than any H3 I have played. The power ceiling is also lower with STN. But the control is slightly better with STN.

If you want a thinner sponge because you worry about too fast, it's not that fast all all.

What's wrong with your current setup? I *think*, based on your other thread, that you are still at the very beginning of TT journey, and trying these (some rather obscure...) rubbers might not be so wise. Especially when your signature says you are 'short on money'. :(

I'd be cautious of spending money on anything you've never tried in person - may be start by checking out your friend's paddles and then look for gently used ones in 'For Sale' section here and at other TT forums. Heck, PM me - I might still have some reasonably decent stuff left over from my inverted days that I can simply donate (you just pay postage). Might not fit your blade perfectly size-wise, but sure will be cheaper.

Have not tried this rubber and quite hard to find here in the Philippines.

Is this worth trying ? I mean comparable to most euro and Japanese rubbers?

Not if you can not easily get it.

SANWEI TARGET RUBBER. MIND THE DANGER

- Topsheet 1.9 mm thick.
- Sponge 2.05 mm thick
- Glue layer plus some 0.2 mm thick.

It will give you troubles a lot. The rubber is going to fail in the thickness test, anyway.
