Hi.
2 months ago I got from China a new sheet of Hurricane 8. Glued it and it was little tackiness at the beginning. Earlier I have been playing Sanwei Target National which was about 1 year of usage and it was much tackier than new H8. I thought- maybe it needs some time of playing and will get better. No! Now there is practically no tackiness, just a bit more than Rasant Powersponge. I can't even pick up a ball by the rubber from the table.
Is it normal? I think no. They changed something last time?
I add that spin is bad at serves. At loops/drives it's better but not rewarding. Does someone have problem like me?

I clean it regularly while playing and after training by breathing on it and wiping dust with hand. Then I stick protection film.

The ball-lifting trick really doesn't work for very long, and it's not important.

Some of the new DHS rubbers seem to randomly have severe quality issues. Usually it is the cheap Chinese rubbers like palio or 729 or no-brand stuff... But DHS seems to be in the same boat as cheaper stuff. TG3-60 and H3-50 seem to reasonably reliable but no guarantees.

@darucla
I know but Sanwei after above 1 year of playing has more tackiness and I can generate much more spin than with this H8...

I've been meaning to make the same thread because I have exactly the same problem with my Hurricane 8. My old Hurricane 3 still has much more tackiness than the 8.

A non tacky H8 you should get a replacement or a refund.

We have had MANY issues with the newer DHS stuff, H8, -50 ect, from top sheet separation to variations in tackiness.

Oddly the Neo 2,3 and tg series have been fine, it is all the new stuff, same with 729 Battle 2 and battle 1, the top sheets come off at higher levels of play, battle 2 only some come off, battle 1 every top sheet will break free at a high level of play, 2 different batches in 3 different wholesale orders.

OP, I've had the same experience (very little tackiness fresh out of the package that doesn't get restored by normal cleaning with water) with all of the following:

- Skyline TG3 (non-Neo) from TT11
- 729 Geospin Tacky from Cole's
- 729 Cream Transcend from I forget where
- H2 Neo from an Ebay seller
- Gambler Burst from Zeropong (came on a blade)
- Hurricane 8 from Zeropong (came as a substitute when I ordered 729 Origin but they ran out of stock; ironically, I had ordered the Origin because the advertising copy said the tackiness came from some sort of nanoparticles and I thought something based on a different physical principle might not give me the not-tacky-right-out-of-the-gate problem I'd had repeatedly before)

I tried the oil trick that Der_Echte has described elsewhere to revive tackiness with moderate success on the sheet of Geospin Tacky and the sheet of H2 neo. I am now convinced that the levels of tackiness you see on Youtube (eg. the test of H3 and H3 Neo that OOAK member PathfinderPro demoed years ago in this video at 5 minutes 15 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5BNkWN9s1E , or Wang Liqin showing off his rubber in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nFRTNgRrD0 ) simply do not exist any more in the normal commercially-available product from any manufacturer. I actually got a refund for the price of the sheet of TG3 from TT11, but I haven't bothered asking for one from the other vendors because the problem is across the board and out of their control as far as I can tell.

In any case, the Hurricane rubbers and the sheet of Gambler Burst are very spinny even without any real tackiness and play plenty well for my (lowish) level. I've decided to quit EJing for a while and stuck with the sheet of H8 for a little over four months now, playing about 6-8 hours a week and wiping the rubber and the protective sheet clean with a damp sponge after each session, and it is still nice and spinny, working well for serves, pushes, loops and chops. Maybe I'd be able to do nastier serves and pushes if it were in fact really tacky (the short game is where tacky rubber is supposed to be most advantageous, right?) but I'm sure my technique is the limiting factor regardless.

Any updates if this issue has been resolved and what tacky rubbers are safe to buy now?

TACKY RUBBER FOOL'S CHOICE.

Clever boy would never betake to the tacky rubbers. It is a sheer disadvantage.

When playing in a dusty court, the tacky would turn some anti as soon as after every 10 rallies played.
Actually, there is no court free of dust and greeze residue....

Sticked my H8 to another blade and it's much better... Spin is even better than with STN. Maybe I did some mistakes playing with Yinhe blade... I don't know :) Tackiness is still low but it doesnt disturb
