I am a modern defender and currently play a Donic DefPlay Senso blade and looking for reasonably priced rubber for my forehand. I do play back from the table (of course) and so would need a rubber that has some pop to it to get it back when I loop, but also not so crazy that I cannot chop with it if needed. I know its a very fine balance, but any suggestions would be helpful. Oh, and if it doesnt break the bank would be a definite plus. Thanks very much.

Haven't tried it myself, because I still have other stuff to test, but I think the Friendship Origin Soft is really an interesting rubber. Not really easy to get around the globe but the description looks very promising. And its under 20 euros.

Rubbers that people on the forum have tried succsessfully on Defplay off the top of my head:
Tenergy 64 1.9
Tenergy 05 1.9,1.7(myself)Tenergy 05 1.9 boosted(myself best I`ve tried))
Omega v Asia 2.0
Razka 7
Barracuda(needs heavy boosting imo)
Vega Japan
I think with the plastic balls I would like to try Aurus Prime

I've really liked Spinlord Irbis 2mm on Defplay.

Haven’t tried Irbis but I’ve got a 2mm Marder 2 on a Defplay. Excellent all round chopping/topspin.

See my current post on Vega Asia df. Should work well on defplay and is quite good value.

Chops well in 1.8mm on soft Def type blade with good grip and spin variation. Also plenty of pop when away from table.
