Blade: Defplay Senso
FH: Barracuda
BH: Grass Dtecs OX
I've played with my new equipment for 5 sessions (4 hrs each).

Old: H3 Neo max, Dtecs ox, Tibhar Stratus Powerwood
New: Rakza7 1.8, Dtecs ox, Neubauer Matador

The largest improvement I've enjoyed is blocking and flatter drives with the rakza + 7ply blade. My newer set up performs significantly better here in terms of control giving me lots of confidence.

The smallest change to my surprise is the difference in spin reversal between the two blades. The opponent I'm striving to beat is approx US1700 and well practiced against LPs. Neither of us noticed an improvement in spin reversal.
As a disclaimer this observation is mostly based off of spinny service return of and not off a series of chop-blocked loops. Never the less, I expected at least a slight improvement with the blade's hard walnut outers. Seems reversal has way more to do with the LP rubber and of course timing of the block.

I was skeptical of the Rakza 7's coarse surface, but turns out serving is fantastic. Counter topspins are very satisfying as well.

The only negative I'm experiencing comes from my slow spinny loops flying past the table. If I don't swing fast enough with my stroke, I end up with this spinless bouncy ball that goes long. I wonder if the trouble is caused by the fact that I'm no longer playing with a Tacky rubber or perhaps the change to a considerably thinner sponge.
Another observation is that when I perform a hooking loop with heavy side spin and a weaker forward component, I certainly don't get that huge sideways jump I expect to see. Curious.

I'm sure with time and practice these elements will improve.

:) I'm pretty happy and look forward to the next 4-6 months of training with the Rakza.
