The two Bloom sheets arrived. It'll probably be a while before I take them out of the packets but it's worth mentioning the packets!

Are we SURE these are 729 rubbers???? They're VACUUM PACKED! Like Yinhe used to do with Mercury II. 729 NEVER used to sell rubber packed like this. Ironically Mercury II is now sold in a foldover cellophane bag with a sticky strip - the sort of packaging used for, say, Batwings and Reactor Corbor.

And, how does the spin version play? Did you like it? Is it a lot slower than the power and is the spin almost double? ;)

The new Batlle II bluesponge is also vacuum packed....

Greetings

They will remain in their packets for a few weeks yet.. I still have to use up my AK47 Blue and Rakza 7 before I try them.

Go order a sheet - I think you can still get them for $11-12 including shipping.

;(

I want the opinion of another EJ....... ;)

Maybe I'll try the spin version. I think you can chop well with it. Only problem is they are not allowed yet I think.

Greeting!

Unfortunately, I'm a big disappointment as an EJ.. To me most rubbers just work the same. For the life of me I can't figure out what to write about them, they all loop OK, they push OK, they serve OK, they produce spin OK, and I play just the same with pretty much any of them (and only get dissatisfied with them when they get old and lose their grip). Other than outliers like Ckylin, H3 and 999... or long/short pips..

Spin and Power ARE in the LARC, so they should be allowed. Don't know what the plans are for the other ones. Kind of the opposite of Butterfly, don't you think.. in the LARC there's Butterfly stuff that hasn't been released yet - Tenergy 05N, Tenergy 09C, Dignics 05, etc. while 729 releases rubber that's not in the LARC yet.

Oops.. I just checked... You're too late, the price has gone up to about $20 across the board (and only the Eachengs have them). The cheapest price is here:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2018-NE ... 20723.html

$18.59 a sheet for the next 3 days... Haven't checked ebay yet, it's worth checking because Eacheng runs two accounts there and prices are sometime lower than on AliExpress.

Keep watching... It'll probably drop again... Chinese New Year is coming, incidentally.. prices may or may not drop because of it, but it would probably be best to avoid buying around that time.. unless you don't mind waiting a long time for it to arrive..

I'll have to say.. nothing like a sudden price increase to make you realize that you really DID want something after all ...

Yup.. I thought that'd happen. Better order quick before it goes up again. Just be aware that Chinese New Year is around the corner (5-6 February), the whole country shuts down for a couple weeks... order NOW and you might get away with it.

Happy year of the hog...

I got sheets of Spin and Arc the last time they were on offer - $11 a sheet, shipped. Crazy prices.

They're great rubbers as well. Tacky, good sponge, excellent spin. Arc's topsheet has the most amazingly short pips - they're almost invisible. Never seen anything quite like it before.

They don't have the ITTF stamp on them though, which probably explains the low prices. Which means I can't really commit to using them full time.

No, that doesn't explain the cheap prices. Normally these are $18-20, and they're that price on the other Eacheng stores. Yeah, the same company sells the same rubber for different prices... and the prices keep changing!

I think I'll repeat last year's experiment - order some rubbers and blades right before Chinese New Year and see how long it takes them to arrive. Surprisingly, last year it only took two weeks! I think I'll order another 2 or 3 M-8s, (they're down to $6.50 each now, and less than $6 if you buy two or more...), a sheet of 863OX (don't ask.. ) and a sheet of 802-40OX. Two different vendors (XVT for the blades and Eacheng stores for the rubbers).

My spin sheet arrived yesterday.
I'll glue it this afternoon and play with it tonight.

I hope I can give a lot of backspin with it when i push and chop. If I also can attack with it ill be happy.

Greetings......
