Victas is about to release a new series of rubbers, the VJ 07 series.
Although I expected this was going to be another ESN release using the new technology that some of other German brands are releassing, this series is actually made in Japan.
I'm hoping to get some sample to test very soon, will be happy to pass them around for others to test as well

Wow... finally something new from Victas! Would be all in if I could get a hold of a sample sheet.
I like how the names are now more aligned with the Tenergy series. Their V>15 naming is a mess... Stiff isn't actually the stiffest of all, etc.

Just a wild guess:
VJ>07 Regular = T05
VJ>07 Stiff = T05 Hard
VJ>07 Limber = T05 FX

OK, so now we know that Stiff = Hard and Limber = Soft. (Weird, that - I'd associate "limber" with gymnasts rather than with, er, sponge, though it does sort of make sense..) What does the "07" signify? (I suppose it's good they didn't call it "007"... )

Not having been on here for a while I missed this, but it sounds interesting? Who is doing the reviews?

I am still using the sheet of TSP Regalis I reviewed some time ago (although I switched to Rasant blade for quite a period in between), but I think that is proof of its durability 8) 8)

Yes, the Japanese rubbers are much more durable than the ESN variants. I recently used MX-P and after 2 months, the sponge was too soft and it was harder to generate spin (speed was still good.) After catching one side on the end of a table, I switched back to a 2 month old Mantra H (that was sitting in my cupboard for a year) and it had way better performance. I think it's the slightly less porous, firmer and more linear sponge that's responsible.

I'm convinced, by the way, that Evolution rubbers are actually made in Japan.

This has hit the market over here in the UK, interestingly the different variants have differing prices (both "regular/RRP" and "sale/our" prices)

07 regular - £38.99 / £33.99
Limber and Stiff - £48.88 / £40.99
Sticky - £54.99 / £44.99

I wonder why?

I don't know why... but from my brief experience with these rubbers, the Limber and Stiff are the pick of the bunch.. I didn't think the others were that special, at least not on the blade I tested it with.

tt11 have them for much less than that.
Still a price difference between versions, but no so huge as above.

And some in the 4=3 promotion and others not. Strange. Probably confirms that Victas have variable pricing.

Various things. The packaging has a lot of Japanese on it, and the size of the rubber is larger than all of the ESN sheets I have measured. Supposedly Japanese sheets are that size, though I cannot confirm that since I have not bought any. On top of all that, not only is the origin of the rubber not stated on the package, Tibhar is quite coy about it.
