Will using a tacky rubber require a big stroke adjustment for BH coming from Tenergy 64?

As far as my play goes, I use my bh mostly for serve return and serve and twiddle. In play, I find myself soft blocking a lot with the very occasional pop up kills.

Any input would be appreciated.

Tacky rubbers are not good for passive play, either forehand or backhand. They require more effort to engage the harder top sheet and sponge.

With Tenergy 64 I block with small motion equivalent to "knocking on a door," how would this blocking change with tacky? I understand that with a full stroke more is required to engage sponge. Wondering about more passive play, thanks.

Passive play with the tacky would lead to slower less spinny less penetrating ball that is harder to control. Tacky rubbers would work for backhand in two scenarios one scenario...close table very spinny opening loops and close table counters. That is the basic rule of tacky rubbers. You have to DO something to the ball.

Exactly that....because of the extreme grip you need to impose your speed/spin on the ball. If you're not going to play very active strokes, use something else.

Right! And the hard sponge just adds to the fact that spin cannot be created mechanically unless you use greater force.
