Blade: WRM Gokushu2
FH: S&T Secret Flow 1mm
BH: S&T Monkey ox
My guess would be one of the ones with a cloth-backing such as the newly approved Valor Premier.

Played last night with old Andro Classic, my fav OX is TSP Miracle, and the classic seemed to be a very thick and soft/stable sheet of OX

thanks for the reply tod. i've been playing lately with what i would consider a modern (vs classic) hardbat (gambler black diamond light, yasaka a-1-2: a-1, df 1615) against the sandwich guys and having lots of fun. what is it that makes you prefer the tsp miracle? more spin while still having the heavy topsheet? have you tried bty orthodox? i think the a-1 is the least grippy of the heavy topsheets.

I find it easier to switch between back and topspin with the Miracle, but produce a dead ball more effortlessly with the aforementioned Classic. My Miracle is on a seventies version Barna Blade.

I used Bfly OX, but it was the sixties version of it and at the time I much preferred my Hock with Red Leyland. I sent it to the guy ran the Hock company after Bernie died to get it recovered and I never got it back. The blade was large head with about a six degree bend from the head to the handle. I still have a five ply in the shovel shape, sponge rubber size, that is also bent. I also have a matching pair of the larger hardbat sized conventional shovel shaped blades.

An aside: My favorite Bfly "OX" rubber was A-063. I had that either late sixty nine or early seventy. It had the thickest rubber base sheet I have ever encountered.
