Okay, I gave the Golden Era F3 a try and I rather like it. I put it on my regular Jack Miller Katana carbon/Kevlar blade as it's not hardbat approved. This kept the speed up but considering the small pips, the soft rubber allowed a fair amount of spin, for both easy rolls, chops and flat hits.

Blocks against inverted were easy and had a good amount of reversal, but more controllable than a long pips rubber. More similar to Dr. Evil or Peacekeeper but softer than either one.

When I switched to Yasaka Cobalt Alpha I immediately noticed that blocks were not as easy to keep on the table, though attacks were easier.

Need to try the two against hard bat, but the Golden Era seems like a good backside rubber pen hold and also a good all around hardbat rubber for someone who plays short pips.

Played against a quick blocking Chinese penholder with Golden era last night on my Jack Miller Carbon blade. It seems to hit as well or better than Yasaka Cobalt. Less arc than 8228A but that makes sense as there's no sponge.

Any chance of getting more of this rubber in the future? Is it approved?
