$1,250? Is he insane?

It strikes me that he must not be very fond of hardbat since the posted youtube link of him playing shows him using sponge in normal competition.

$1,250 is actually cheap compared to what other championship paddles have sold for in the past.

Actually Carlos does like hardbat, and this is not his first hardbat tournament. BTW, Trevor Runyan, whom he beat in the final, usually plays sponge also.

Can you give us examples ? Because for me, $1,250 is VERY expensive even for a real TT champion's bat. I have a bat signed by Kjell Johansson and Stellan Bengtsson, I bought it around $100 or $150. So $1,250 for a bat used by a player only known in the USA... :^) This would be like if Jean-Michel Carquin, #1 in the french hardbat ratings, would sell his own bat for 1,000 euros. :)

I have the blade (signed) that John Hilton used when he won the European Championships in Berne in 1980. It is priceless to me, as is my friendship with John.
