Don't worry, everyone, I will remain a jpenner at heart, and that will be what I use most of the time, BUT I am starting to really like hardbat. I do have a question or two, though. Would a premade hardbat be decent? It would be a lot cheaper. Also, is it pretty much impractical to attack balls below the net? I usually chop those with HB.

Are you going to play it penhold, or shakehand style? :)

You would want a blade that's really slow but with excellent feel... Our top hardbatter (and myself) uses Donic Defplay Senso. I have an extra one... PM me your address I will send it to you, no charge. You do have to buy the rubbers yourself though. :)
We prefer Butterfly Orthodox (got ours from Paddle Palace). :)

Woah, are you serious???? Might take you up on that. And for a rubber, how about RITC 799 or 802? (I'm a poor 16-year old....no job yet, though I hope to fix that soon.)

Yes, serious. :) I thank my good luck for having a decent life, so I'd love to help anyone (or club) in need if I could... :)

799 and 802 are not "legal" hardbat rubbers, unfortunately... However, I do have some new 802 or 802-40 type rubbers without sponge... I will include them in the box, so you can use them until you can afford Orthodox... :)

Wow, that would be excellence....I'll ask my parents. So do you have a link to the legal hardbat rubbers? I'll look for one. I remember seeing one before....

That Hardbat list is outdated. Try http://www.hardbat.com/hardbat.html which is the current one.

CHEERS!
