I learned on and played with hardbats when I was a kid. Then I played with sandpaper till the Nittaku premium ball owners in th eclub I was playing at got mad at me for tearing up the balls. Then I got a paddle with inverted and it wasn't good to chop with, so my game turned to crud, and I stopped playing for a number of decades. I started playing again almost a year ago and I'm currently playing with inverted on one side and long pips on the other, and doing pretty well at it. I play a chop and push game, mostly, but love a nice popup. I went to a tournament last fall and was warming up with a hardbat guy who seemed friendly, and that's how I found out they were playing with them again.

So, I see there are only a dozen or so rubbers that are legal... Which would be best to chop, push and hit with? Obviously, I need to serve and return serves as well.

From what I understand, a Giant Dragon Kris blade should work fine? I use one now, slightly cut down to Nittaku Monophonic size, LOL, so I would plan to have a 2nd one setup with hardbat rubber

Perhaps the rules determining what is legal are different in Turkey? I found a list of the ones that are supposed to be legal in the US. Unfortunately I've never played with any of them.

http://www.hardbat.com/hbCoverings.html

I think it has to be one of these?

Approved Hardbat Racket Coverings

Leyland ("Hock" rubber)
Andro Classic
Butterfly Orthodox
Dunlop Barna Original
Friendship RITC "Dr Evil"
Gambler Peace Keeper OX
ATP Reisman, ATP "Leland Era"
Valor Premier
TSP Millitall
Yasaka A-1-2, A-1, or A2
Yasaka Cobalt
(note that Hallmark MagicPips became illegal after March 1, 2010)

For Hardbat Valor Premier.

For your inverted game Apollo I on FH and Globe 979 OX long pips BH. If you don't like OX LP then Neptune LP with .7mm sponge are great for chopping and hitting. Ditto on Globe.

The oversized Golden Dragon Kris blade I plan to use is OFF on FH and DEF on BH. It works well for atacking with my FH and chopping with my BH. I noticed the one review I found for Butterfly Orthodox said not to put it on a fast blade. I don't know if any of the other rubbers listed have problems on a fast blade?

I chop and push with both sides, but my FH smash is better than my BH smash, so that's why I use a combination blade. I would like to try to use the same type of blade that I play with normally so that I have less things to get accustomed to.
