This might be a bit silly or trivial to some people but I would value their advice just the same.

I like to keep my equipment clean after use. Previously I had a Stiga Sting that I would clean with some Asda (USA = Walmart) Smartprice Baby Wipes. No perfume or harmful chemicals, uniformly wet without being sopping, unabrasive cloth, currently doubled in price to 46p for a packet of 80. Just clean-wipe each side and allow to air-dry.

I don't think this is working very well on my hardbat with its short pimples/pips. I would be very grateful if someone could tell me what they do to keep their hardbat clean and free from dirt. I was thinking that maybe a very soft toothbrush dipped in plain water might work, but I don't want to slowly erode the rubber, damage the pimples/pips, pull at the edges of the rubber, or rot the wooden blade.

For the record my hardbat is a pre-assembled Tees Sport Pimpled Out Table Tennis Bat, total cost £3.76 with postage. Its about as cheap and basic as you can get over the internet, but I really like it. Its a lot of fun to play with and is almost alarmingly different to the Stiga bat. I also got some 38mm balls but have not been able to use them in a match, yet. They bounce really well.

I know other people that use a toothbrush for cleaning... I guess they use a very soft one. TSP makes a cleaning brush which looks like very much like a toothbrush, for cleaning pips as well, so a very soft brush is probably the way to go.

I'm guessing as and when the rubbers look a bit grubby, using just enough water for it to easily evaporate afterwards.

As often as it takes to keep them clean... Unless you prefer your pips to become sliders.
