I've launched a new hardbat brand Rally Table Tennis. We sell blades, assembled hardbats, sandpaper paddles (LIHA) and for the truly vintage cork bats. Check us out.... Thanks.

Nice stuff, if you want another vintage covering, try leather. I have some of those. I think Al Papp, a US west coast hard batter, has at least one. One source isTandy Leather.

That is sort of dependent on the age and type of cork. They can be a bit grippy or more like playing with wood in terms of lack of friction. They tend to have more control blocking than wood or sandpaper.

I have a commercially produced blade with cork on one side and sandpaper on the other. I guess it was one early attempt at having one "spinny side and one for control." Finger spin serves off the sandpaper can be very difficult to return.

I think it is great fun to play with a cork bat. I like them better than hard rubber or sandpaper.

New blade set-up... Nittaku Monophonic with Dawie 388d-1 ox and Big slam max ( really like this one) down to FH rubber selections--I like it better than talon
flaired handle and 90 grams
