My 'new' hardbat arrived yesterday - Dr Evil on a Joola Basic blade, for starters. I played for about 3 hours with it yesterday. After a few hours I was getting used to it. It certainly doesn't chop anything like a LP. However I found with a fierce digging action I could get quite a bit of spin. |

Has anyone actually tried playing with Andro Classic? Or does anyone have some sitting around they aren't using they would trade or sell cheap? I already tried Peace Keeper and Dr Evil, and both seemed pretty weird to hit with, so neither my forehand nor backhand were even close to working. |

You can get lots of spin with Dr Evil. I've played against (not used) Butterfly orthodox and found it has quite some reversal when playing against it. |

I can't chop to save my life, so I have zero experience there, but I know that one of the best hardbat players in the world (video is somewhere in the massive mnnb blog archive, he's basically a chopper) uses Yasaka Cobalt. It's a pretty thick rubber. |

I've been getting the hang of Dr Evil. I find it's pretty good away from the table, which surprised me. I can get decent underspin. What I find I really struggle with is to counter topspin with topspin - so I block, push or chop. That's fine, but makes any counter-drive very tricky to achieve. |
