The biggest televised showcase in U.S. table tennis history is later this month. The viral marketing hype has begun.....

Good clips! There's some real characters there

They may not portray it as a very professional sport, but they sure make it look like a of fun and looka like a huge event!

There sure are alot of pretty solid players that are switching to hardbat full time to play this event. I personally hate playing hardbat. It's made alot of decent players alot easier to beat.

I know of a few players who have switched to hardbat full time and are better than they were with sponge.

I'm one of those players who got better when he switched to hardbat.

Do you think it's because it suited YOU better, or that it was harder on your opponents?

I think it was for four reasons.

1) Yes, I think it just suited me better.
2) I was training a lot harder and with a lot of focus when I switched since I wanted to do well in the Hardbat Classic. So increased training was a big factor.
3) For some players, it presents ball that is harder to deal with. But for others, it presents a much easier ball.
4) Overall, I have better control and improved control pays me more dividends that improved speed or spin. I still hit with a good deal of speed and power - but I don't need as much power except against the strongest players because I win more points with good location and just getting the ball back now. Surprisingly, I think I counter-loop with hardbat better than I did with inverted. And you aren't even supposed to loop with hardbat.
