Interesting piece of news on BBC the other day. Apparently the cost of shipping one container (40 foot, IIRC) from Shanghai to Europe has decreased from about USD1100 to USD650 in the last year. Part of that is the strength of the dollar, but it's mainly lower fuel costs and slack demand (lots of excess capacity now). So if USPS reinstated overseas surface mail I'm sure they could make money at it. Even if they offered it only to US online retailers I'm sure there'd be quite a bit of interest, and would be a boon to online retailers (such as Amazon). US freight consolidators also should take advantage of surface shipping - last time I tried one they sent stuff FedEx, it wasn't inexpensive (though a lot less than having everything shipped separately). Somehow, certain US suppliers now seem allergic to sending stuff overseas anymore - such as McMaster Carr.

It is not like reflectoid, however I do love a good defensive rubber and as it turns out this top sheet coupled with the soft yellow sponge I had on hand was darn good at chopping/pushing and blocking, part if it is the blade I am sure as well. Curious to see what it will do with the mega cell sponge now, but I do not happen to have it laying around to test. It may fit a modern defender type game more than the pure defensive attributes that reflectoid has.

Tom, any idea when we will see the new product? I am looking for some spinnier reflectoid-ish inverted rubber. I have been tinkering with a double-inverted chopper again.

We do not have an eta yet, a few of the rubbers are still in the approval process as well. What thickness? 1.5mm?

Tom

Depends on the rubber... The speed....the catapult. But yes...probably 1.5 to 1.7 on the BH, and 1.8 to 2.0 on the FH. Chopping both wings with blocks and attacking loose balls.
